If they do end up having to go to their running game they wont win. When you are forced to go to Maroney or Faulk with Moss, Stallworth, Welker, ect. to throw the ball to there is an issue. I dont think they will be FORCED to use their running game, I think they will elect to use it in key moments if their recievers are getting worked by a Defense. They did it a little bit against the Colts and it payed off, but we will see.
By the way... does anyone else think they will play their starters in week 17 even if they have clutched the playoffs and home field advantage? I think they will with the egos they have on the coaching staff. I hope they do, that is usually when karma catches up to a team and someone gets injured.

They will use their players and they should. Icing your players for the last week is stupid when you have a bye in the first round.
Also, karma doesn't exist except in fairytales.

How is disliking egos effecting my discussion? I dont like TO's ego, I dont like Chad Johnsons ego, I hated when Randy Moss was young with his ego... I am just stating that when teams run up scores to 49 points in the first half its a little messed up. Its not limited to the Pats but I cant name another team that has done it. I guess I should not say its the Pats as a whole but more Bill Belichick. He seems to be more concerned with his own legacy than the safety of some of his players. He needs to pull Moss, Brady and maybe Stallworth when the score is +21 in the Pats favor.
Ill give another ego example, Marty playing Brees in a game we had won where he then got injured by hyperextending his shoulder. It was karma, no need to play your starters when the game is clenched.
Karma does exist even if you dont believe in it.

Maybe the teams that the Pats are playing should play some defense?

My point is, does anyone else think they WILL play their first string guys in the 16th game even if they have playoffs and home field advantage clenched?

yes that's pretty much biased hatred.

Dude, let it go. I dont hate the pats for knocking the Chargers out of the playoffs. I was sad when the Chargers lost, I then rooted for the Pats to beat the Colts, they lost, and then I rooted for the Colts in the Superbowl since New Orleans didnt make it. Biased would be me hating the Raiders, Chiefs, and Broncos because they are in my division. I dont hate the Chiefs and I dont hate the Broncos. The Raiders... maybe a little but it has more to do with the fans than the team. Go to a Chargers vs. Raiders game and you would probably dislike the team a bit as well.
Im not limiting my ego vs. karma to the Pats, but I do think the Pats coaching staff (primarily Bill Belicheck) will hurt the team with some risky desicions in the last few games.
And the "Best" team in the NFL not making a championship game isnt unheard of. Look at the Colts a few seasons ago and the Chargers last season. It has happened before, many times.

hahahahah Chargers weren't the best team last season. They had the best record, but they weren't even betting favorites against the patriots during the playoffs.
It's obvious when you keep insisting and making elaborate prediction with no basis whatsoever
"he's going to get injured because it's karma".
You clearly are someone whose more HOPING for these things to happen than really trying to make an accurate prediction based on sports knowledge.
The only type of person who PREDICTS an injury is someone who HOPES for it to happen. That's as clear as it gets.

I dont hope anyone gets injured. I hope they get beat so you will stop sucking them off. I thought LT was going to get injured this season, he hasnt... yet. But obviously I dont want him to get injured. Your logic is flawed thinking that because someone says they think a player on a team MAY get injured, that the person speaking is HOPING that a certain player gets injured.
Just admit the fact you disagree with me because you think you know everything about the human mind because your fucked up brain works the way you claim mine does. Damn, just accept the fact someone disagrees with you. You arent a sports Guru, if you were you would be making money talking out your ass.
I dont hate the Pats, if I did I would say things like "fuck those faggoty ass Pats," but I dont say that. I say they are good but not as good as people claim. I think Tom Brady is the second best QB in the NFL right now despite his current numbers. I think Randy Moss is the Second best Receiver in the NFL despite his numbers, but the number 1 in both spots are on different teams which is why the numbers favor the number 2 guys.
Like I said earlier, numbers only tell you so much. LT is the best RB in the NFL right now but he isnt having the best season of his career (oh wait, I am biased towards the Chargers so obviously that discredits my statement about LT).
Make a valid arguement other than "you hate the Pats," when I am telling you flat out that I DO NOT HATE THE PATS. Im also not a bandwagon fan and I give credit where credit is due and I criticize when necessary.

Valid point?
Here's a valid point.
In your response you said you "think" someone would get injured.
But here's your initial quote
"I think they will with the egos they have on the coaching staff. I hope they do, that is usually when karma catches up to a team and someone gets injured. "
Mhm.....
not to mention, you got all upset when everyone was sayong how the Pats are the best team in the league, trying to discount their record
"they only beat one good team"
then you try to say the chargers were more impressive last year...
"because they actually played tough teams"
BOTH times i had to correct you because you were trying to discredit what everyone knows is the best team in the league.
Then you try to explain it all by saying
"oh, the chargers beat more impressive teams because they won games with a weaker team"
which is just retarded because what makes a team impressive is the strength of their team....it's simple english.
then you try to say something COMPLETELY absurd
"oh it's not the record of the team that measures how good they are, it's the INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS"
which is just plain dumb. Anyone can tell you that.
Then you try to make as many predictions against the patriots as you can
"they won't go 16-0 (which is valid), they won't win the superbowl (less valid), and they won't even make the AFC championship game (pretty much rooted from hatred"
but when i offer you a wager on these predictions which you seem so sure about...
"oh i don't gamble"

which is pretty damn funny because if you're so damn sure the patriots AREN'T going to make the AFC championship game...it's not really gambling. You said it straight up, like it's FACT.
If you're so sure about them not making the AFC title game, why wouldn't you just accept $200 from a guy who believes otherwise?
oh that's right, it's because you know deep inside, you're unsure. But you wanted to make as many claims against the patriots as you could...all horribly discrediting your sports knowledge.
You can deny your fan bias all you want. But the evidence is there throughout this thread. It's clear you can't stand the fact that everyone thinks the pats are the best team in the league. Something you only admit to when people accuse you of being overlybiased.
Randy Moss isn't the best reciever in the league this year? Uhhhh then tell me...who is? Go ahead and name me another reciever in the running for MVP.

I can only dream. And I mean just that, dream. The Bills don't suck as bad as I thought they did but the Pats are every bit a monster. Some people are just fucking dumb.

I didnt say I HOPE someone gets injured. Read the quote again and not the comma in the sentence.
"I think they will with the egos they have on the coaching staff. I hope they do, that is usually when karma catches up to a team and someone gets injured. "
I didnt say "I hope someone gets injured." Learn the english language. You will also have to note that not gambling doesnt mean I think I am wrong. It means I accept that I MAY not be right and rather than wager 200 of my own dollars, I rather just have bragging rights. Nothing in the NFL is a given. Any projected AFC or NFC championship team can get knocked out at any given point.
I dont hate the Patriots which is your only valid arguement to anything I say. Even now you havent shown any valid arguements. I know full well what I have said... your arguement is "the chargers were knocked out of the playoffs by the pats so you hate them." Excuse me for not sucking a teams dick off. I also dont think the Cowboys will make it to the NFC championship game. Is that because I am a chargers fan as well?
The best receiver in the NFL is Chad Johnson. Randy Moss has better numbers all around but even on a poor executing team Chad Johnson puts up big numbers. I may even put Marvin Harrison above Moss, but maybe that is just my Charger bias. Randy Moss is having a great year, no doubt, but he isnt the best receiver in the NFL. The best receiver this season definately, but not the best in the NFL. Just like LT is the best RB in the NFL, but not the best this season. Two different things we are talking about.
If you want even less Charger bias from me, I dont think Antonio Gates is the best TE in the NFL, Jeremy Shockey is in my opinion. But hey, I am bias because I am a charger fan. I guess that means I should hate Eli Manning... since he didnt want to play for my team.
My favorite QB if you want even more bias opinions, is Donovan McNabb. My personal receiver is Javon Walker. My favorite defensive player is Mike Vrabel. But, thats just all Charger bias so disregard all of it.
**EDIT** The record doesnt always show how good a team is, look at The Browns. They arent as good as there record shows. Look at the teams they beat. Its always a shootout on offense with them, and usually the teams they beat have piss poor Defenses trying to stop the pretty good Browns offense. Its basically the opposite of last years Bears. The Bears D carried them to the Superbowl because their offenses had very few good games. Their record didnt reflect their team.
Look at Buffalo, they arent as good as their record shows either (though I hope they keep winning for Losmans sake). They have played decent in some games and then had the luxury of playing against some poor teams.
Then you look at The Eagles. They are way better than their record shows, they just havent been able to score touchdowns in the red zone this season.
Of course on the flip side, The Bengals team really does suck (despite their talented offense). The Jets really do suck (pennington should not be benched). The Dolphins really suck (nothing else to say about that). The Falcons really suck.
But dont let a teams record deceive you. Watch football and make your own decision. Numbers are numbers, generally they mean nothing unless a players contract is going to expire or unless you are being drafted into the NFL.
