I see what you're getting at, at least insofar as space-time is a concept. However, I'm not sure I fully understand what you're driving at, perhaps you could elaborate?

I am making my point in explaining that the future as well as the past are mental constructs. It doesn't make them "non-existent", they're just intangible
The past exists in our memory and the future exists in our imagination, because it's by imagining, planning that we refer to the future.
i.e.: I'm going to meet my friend tomorrow and get high and watch a movie.
When you say that, you see the images, you "plan" which movie you're going to see or at least create an idea about what kind of movie it will be.
All these are mental constructs.

On the other hand, NOW is happening all the time. We don't directly and fully experience other state, time than NOW. We don't need our mental construct to make now happening because it's already there :mushroom2:

Question....
By taking part in watching a movie, aren't you (at least in part) experiencing part of the past, outside of memory....?
Doesn't that make part of the past tangible, "now"....?
Videotape is tangible evidence in court....    :thumbup:

Through our mental construct and also through being aware of our mental construct, becoming conscious that we're remembering, having similar feelings that we experienced in the past, that's why I specifically said: "The mental construct, in my opinion, is not one and the same thing with awareness, though they exist in a symbiotic manner."

There are other mental constructs besides memory

OK, anything that is on videotape, is from the past....
Not necessarily YOUR past, but contains past events (that is what I meant by "outside of memory" - outside of YOUR memory)....
It existed, but not to your knowledge until you watched the tape....

Yeah... if you watch a video from the past. You don't like remember it or anything. It's still all new to you. Hmmmm, idk im not that big on questions that no one can answer so I have no solid oppinion on this one... but there's a very interesting debate! =)

If you look from outside of the spacetimecontinum on it, it is like a holographic sphere - fractal puzzle, which all in all is interconnected. The past with the future and vice versa via the NOW and all with the material space realm(s).
So if you change one part of this holosphere, this simultaneously will change other parts like in a big machinery.
If you change future, you'll change the past, if you change the past, you'll change the future. And all is happening in the now.
I think the 'NOW' engulfs the outside sphere(s) of the spacetimecontinum as well :grin: :jointsmile:

You're standing at a specific point on the line and you can look around you, or forwards, or backwards, but time is a continuous stream and where you and I stand within it is of little significance.

Alternatively, time is totally objective. Who knows?

Hmm yes, maybe at any point of view he/she/it intends to be (or 'needs' or 'assumes' or 'is forced' to be either :shrug:).
The thing is, there (and 'then') they would see the specific interconnectednesses and their effective change dependancy of their contextual stance and hopefully even more.

For me, only the present exists. I'll never exist in the future or the past. Past/present is just a concept. Personally, I've learned that minimizing focus on the past/future has been extremely benefical to my the quality of my life.

To you, with your human eyes, perhaps. But a being that exists in this higher dimension would not be 'seeing' in the same way you do. I doubt whether our imagination could even being to comprehend what this being would look like.
