Your addicted to the Msg they pump into those burgers, or whatever that gives you that addiction, its not natural.

Really I had Mc'Ds craving and fastfood craving all the time, and thought it was just hunger, until after quiting all fastfood, I realized I was physically addicted to that shit, cause now I don't crave none of that stuff anymore.

Nothing to do with the country, just a rouge prime minister who lacks back-bone and from what i can tell, basic sanity. :smirk:

It makes me very sad to see my country slowly become the 51st state.

Slaves to corporate America, eh? I think that if the government were operated as a competing corporation, we would be golden. I realize that you were referring to "corporate America" in the sense of the corporations influence on the country, but I thought it would be important to make that point.

In all reality, America gets what it asks for. Corporations are required to be in accordance with the laws that govern corporations. In what manners would you consider us to be slaves to these corporations? The only negative influence American corporations have is the ability to move aspects of their operations out of the country, and yet still be able to do business within the country. The reasoning is obviously because the basic point of a corporation is that it needs to be turn a profit, and, in order to compete successfully with other corporations from other countries, they have to get where the labor is the cheapest.

Well, as I was saying, it is the government's responsibility to regulate trade. The government decides if our jobs will go overseas or not. I'm not sure where this "corporate slavery" is and what it consists of, but it would seem much more likely to be "government slavery".

At this specific point in time, I realize that I am needing sleep, so this ramble ends here.

America has no culture, which is why Americans had to invent the whole flag worship patriotism trip as a surrogate. Worst of all you even have a celebration day (Thanks Giving) to commemorate wiping out the natives, who did at one time have a deep, rich and meaningful culture, but are now the lowest class of people in the good old U.S of A. Freedom, liberty and justice? puh!

Some people really have a twisted view of Americans. The Thanksgiving (one word not two) holiday doesn't commemorate the killing of anyone. It is a means of giving thanks to our friends and family (was from the beginning and still is today). The fact that the natives were all but exterminated was a mutual undertaking on both peoples part.

If you honestly believe that we celebrate the killing of people......you have some serious issues to work on.

Quote:
Patriotism is the worst thing next to sectarianism. It works alot like faith in its ability to blind people from the facts.

Faith does not blind people. I have absolute faith that the sun will rise every morning. I don't need to pray every morning to some unseen "god" to make the sun rise. I have faith that it will rise without any assistance from me.

Blind faith.....blinds people.

Have you cut your self off from the rest of society and gone "native" on us. Do you have a gas powered car, or electric lights, or natural gas heat in the winter?

"Thanks for contributing to the continuing degradation of mother earth"

How can you possibly blame America for "obesity and malnutrition world-wide"? Isn't diet a personal choice? How are we making anyone over eat and be lazy?

Culture

5 a : the integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior that depends upon the capacity for learning and transmitting knowledge to succeeding generations
b: the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group; also : the characteristic features of everyday existence (as diversions or a way of life) shared by people in a place or time <popular culture> <southern culture>
c: the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization <a corporate culture focused on the bottom line>
d: the set of values, conventions, or social practices associated with a particular field, activity, or societal characteristic <studying the effect of computers on print culture> <changing the culture of materialism will take time -- Peggy O'Mara>

So you see, that any sized group of people, with the same goals is a culture/society. Cultures come in many sizes.

To say that America has no culture is either ignorance, or some form of flaming.
Either way it's kinda sad. :shake:

Most people (IMO) who bash America, are really just jealous, and have turned that jealousy in to anger/hatred out of fear and ignorance.

Is America an Eden.......far from it.
Has America made mistakes.......of course they have, every nation does from time to time.
Is America some evil force trying to take over the world with their rock and roll music and their fast food, fast life attitude.............I don't think so my friend.

"Your focus determines your reality"

or.....

"Change the self and reality will change."

These are simple truths that have a MAJOR impact on your environment.

If you focus on the negatives........that all your going to see.
