Yes silver, and you worded it better then I could figure out a way to say it without coming under heavy artillery. We do have a lot of freedoms here other peoples of the world don't. Imagine being killed for religious beleifs, speaking out against your nations leader or pre marital sex (only applies to females of course). No Thanks!

Your MA master sounds wise Ice!

And Yes the invention of the American Ammmmmmbiiiiiiiirjeeer. Anyone see the Pink Panther with Steve Martin. That scene with him learning to say hamburger in english was a riot.

Your reply about slumming cracked me up Red!

I am living in the U.S. by free choice. Despite its faults, it still remains quite a land of opportunity for making dreams come true to me.

He would have never allowed me to call him master.

He was the best fighter I ever saw in action. He was brillant in mind and body but had some anger and macho issues. He taught me a lot.

America has no culture, which is why Americans had to invent the whole flag worship patriotism trip as a surrogate. Worst of all you even have a celebration day (Thanks Giving) to commemorate wiping out the natives, who did at one time have a deep, rich and meaningful culture, but are now the lowest class of people in the good old U.S of A. Freedom, liberty and justice? puh!

The hypocracy of your democracy makes me want to puke my frickin guts up!  :mad2:

Harsh words aside though, i love you people, i really do! God Bless America! :smirk:

Hamburg still is in Germany
Yes, it's absolutely right that America is loved by other counties for its freedom.
But the world is limited, so is freedom limited. The Americans invaded a huge country, so the limits are not so imminent to them (its nice, if everyone gets a piece of land and can do there whatever he wants), but..like the freemasons said: Freedom needs borders.
If there are no borders/limits , freedom will hurt others and that is why those others will hate U.S. for the same reason.
And it's no excuse to say, it was Bush...it will fall back on the main population. They are in charge to bring their power to the rule.
Bushs' intelligence units are right.

I'm an American and I have to agree with most of the America bashing. There is no way of expressing the shame I felt when Bush was elected.

I'm not pro-American either in alot ways, but I do acknowledge that I'm American in aspect of culture and mindset common to others that live on this same piece of land. And as such I do think americans should take resposbility on an individual level in preserving the land, instead of raping it, Our land signifies more important than a hunk of dirt, it represents what we stand for as a whole, and what we're doing,

I mean we're in the same boat, on same team, like it or not, so as being on a team we as players, or citizens, have to take some responsiblity for the loss, I wouldn't totally cast off or shun all concerns for our country, because I decide that I don't want to participate in much its affairs, LAND PRESERVATION is key in living a good life. Screw not taking resposbility, I don't like america myself either in alot of ways, but I do feel the need do keep certain things in check.

not just as americans, as humans.  not just on america, on earth. In the actual context of what you speak of, you are a citizens of earth.  What america does affects the entire world. When one countries land is destroyed, so are all countries lands.  When 'american' air is polluted, so is everyones.

Land and sea's only significance is that it is place for all froms of life to live on this lonely blue marble floating in space.

responsibility indeed.  :sun:

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

I do need to get beyond the concept of country, maybe that is what everybody is tired of. That we're too patriotic and too prideful in our own country to not recognize the bigger picture, the Planet and the Human Race.

But the fact is that we can't control other empires that faulter or don't want to participate in the global movement, Humans seperate themselves culturally like it or not. and it is a glory for say an empire to rise, because they as a land choose the fruitful paths, global awarness is needed, but the earth is still pretty big in a sense, certain sects will live worse or better according to their actions. Do you want to live in the kingdom that promotes peace and prosperity or a the backwards government that promotes war which promotes mass killing, which one do you choose?

But yes in the long run we should strive beyond our differences and pride and unify our cultures and resources for the betterment of the planet and the entire human race. In which America maybe looked as a certain blue print in which such can be possible

Patriotism is the worst thing next to sectarianism. It works alot like faith in its ability to blind people from the facts.

(This post is inspired by Hue, from something he said in Annas "Why to they hate us post".)

Give it some thought and post some things you think are worth other nations loving about Americans.

There is no right or wrong reply, just what you think you would love about us, (based on your personal experience of knowing us first hand), if you lived in another country.

I'll add some of my own later, I have to go cook dinner now.

If you have reasons for hating americans or why some would, please post them in Annas post.

:peace:

Some of the most brilliant people in recent times have been American. Most of my favorite entertainers and musicians are Americans. Most of my favorite authors are also Americans. I think few people actually indiscriminately hate Americans other than extremist political loonies.

there is a large sector of the youth that is in general peaceful, loving and caring toward their fellow man. our children, not being exposed to violence and war unless through media tend to be very idealistic and innocent and therefore have surprisingly accurate views about how things should be.

i have been to Mcy D's a handful of times over the years during road trips w/ friends. seems like i'm always next in line to a group of people who are still hung up reading the menu when it's time to order, as if they didn't know by heart what being slung there. not that it bothers me, just puzzles me so.

You are likely right except the part about Big Mac being as advertised. If you can show me a Big Mac that looks like the one in that picture I will eat it.

during my first acid trip i was so mesmerized by how refreshing the Coca Cola on the pop machine looked that i had no choice but to indulge. boy was i let down when my soda lacked the glowing aura and myriads of beads of condensation flowing off it. i stuck it under the water fountain.... i had my friend hold it up by the pop machine, but alas these were just BS attempts to sublimate my Id's true desire for that perfect Coke... so I swore 'em off then and there.... actually, slightly more pertinent to the thread, the day after that trip, still unable to sleep, trying to describe the way I felt to somebody all I could come up with was that I felt American... when probed as to what I meant by that, I said it was a condition of being simultaneously wired and tired. Ahhh, to be an innane teenager on acid again.....
