I assume you arrived at the thread by means other than browsing this particular forum? I always notice people occasionally stating that they thought they were in a different forum than they actually were. I assume they are viewing a list of the most active topics, or something? :grin:

Heh, I was actually seeing if a thread on this topic matter already existed in OTD.

I created a mirror thread of this in OTD after discovering that this was located in P&S, but I wanted to make sure one didn't already exist in OTD or even the Pub for that matter.

While there are no experts on the supposed existence of an afterlife, there are experts on how life can most efficiently be lived. Example: While I am not a Buddhist I have read much about the Buddhist methods of knowing the self and controlling the mind, and I have found most of these ideas practical and working. Many people also exist in our world who can show one how to manage physical resources such as money leading to material success. There are also many who can teach how to physically enhance one's body and health. So to say that there is no expert on the mysteries of life is not necessarily true. The aspects I have mentioned are part of the "mysteries of life" that often elude many people. The true mysteries of life are happiness, health, and success...not the existence of some afterlife or God to lord over us.

The mystery of life has nothing to do with an afterlife, or heaven, or hell. It is within comprehension or you would not post here.

Your statement did not mention Heaven and Hell. You mentioned the mystery of life. Understanding Heaven and Hell (like they exist???)would be the mystery of death.

Definitely within our ability to comprehend, but perhaps outside of our current awareness.

I do not see Heaven or Hell as  vague metaphysical concepts, but states of consciousness.  When we view life through the "filter" of Hell, we see ourselves as a tortured soul, damned forever to the agonies of our life.  When we view through the "filter" of Heaven, the joy and pleasure is almost too much for our fragile physical body to bear.  :heart:

I used to be much more "skilled" at creating Hell for myself, and thought that Heaven was a state bestowed by dumb luck or holidays.

Now I work daily to "see Heaven in a wild flower."  This is a conscious choice to bless my own life.  :heart:
