This place is new, and it is lagging behind the other spiritual forum.

Just like OTD and The Pub. The Pub lagged behind for YEARS before taking the forefront in this community.

Come on folks! State your beliefs!

I agree completely.

However, I am surprised at how few have actually attempted to use this forum for its grand purpose.

We've just gotta' start stating our beliefs, and this forum will pick up steam.

We don't have a good track-record when it comes to adhering to the moral code (integrity) of 'Openmindedness', which is OK when we consider we are being Honest in our beliefs. Honesty to the Christian code of ethics wont allow opposing views, and neither would a Fundamental Shiite Muslim site. So I guess division is natural; the Muslims here, the Mormons there, the Israelites, the Palestinians etc
In accordance with their beliefs. Are we in accordance?

If this is true, is this forum all about stating each of our beliefs and hoping that they are correct?

What is a belief's purpose?

If I don't have any beliefs, am I a completely useless to this forum?

How could you be completely useless to this forum when you contributed such a great post ( see here ). I think a beliefs purpose is "hope" and by placing them here we are sharing and perhaps instilling Hope/or at the very least providing entertainment for those of us who already have everything figured out. :smirk:

As you said yourself, the Pub took years to get to where it is. I don't think it could have happened any differently. Sometimes it just takes time for things to happen. Don't force it, I believe you'll just ruin it if you try (in general).

Aha, yes... by thinking, you have encountered a flaw in my logic.

Yes, all people have to do is state their beliefs, BUT they must WANT to state them... and my sugestion that people state their beliefs, does nothing to make people WANT to state their beliefs. :wink:

I do suspect, people stating their beliefs in here, will beget MORE posts in this forum. Especially, as people know their beliefs are sacred, in this Forum.

Nobody's forcing anybody here, I'm just saying what makes this place tick. Notice, I haven't stated many beliefs in this thread, either. :tongue:

However, I disagree with you about one thing, Trendal. You say: We will ruin it if we TRY to make this forum work.

I think it is infinitely more likely this forum WILL work, once people TRY to make it work. ESPECIALLY since that is what happened in The Pub. :smirk:

However, I respect your beliefs. Yoda had much the same response to TRYing something.

In this case, semantics simply got in the way of what I meant. Feel free to substitute the word, "Try" with, "Do" oh Jedi master. :wink:

sure, why not

life and dream are of the same nature

what you believe you can percieve

all emotional reactions are subject to concious control

liberation from suffering is attainable

their is no limit to the range of perception/perceptual realities we are capable of experiencing

the only thing that limits our experience is our energy, which we can raise or lower through the choices we make

love is the only rational act

gratitude, praise and love are the three keys to the door to everything.
