awhile ago swami brought up how we are just as much to blame for his swami'ness that we've come to both love and hate,,,i've kept this in mind since that thread, i really can see it happening,,honestly, swami threads are only funny/interesting/impressive/ etc here at the shroomery in the s&p forums, they would be brushed off and discarded as lame anywhere else, not to say mine or anyone else's are better, i like swami and his post's/threads, i'm sure if he was at any other forum he would grow to become notorious there within no time at all, he's come really good at impressing stoned teenagers and the rest of s&p, good work, keep it up swami.

Wow...that was a backhanded complement if I ever saw one. Good job...I guess...

It don't impress me Every thread he starts is the same, just worded a little differently: "hey guys, if you believe in stuff you can't see and touch you're stupid" then every response he makes in the thread is either this: "Prove it." or this: "I just amaze myself with how smart I am!"
It's so boring. He just comes, makes this thread 3 times a day for a few weeks, disappears for a month or two, repeat...

Repetition is the mother of skill. Quite often a point can also be made in a repetitive manner over time to drive home a concept. Advertising, government, and schools all use this tactic. It is a very powerful method of installing beliefs.

Do I detect a little ... ? It was that comment about stoned teenagers.
I'm not a teenager and I like Swami. I choose not to give him more power than he deserves though.
I've often wondered why he hangs around here going over the same debate over and over. I've figured it out to my satisfaction and I could be wrong and that's why I won't share it. And it's not very important to me. I also try and figure out everyones motives for spending a lot of time here, including mine and yours, and the reason behind your posts.
Every person who posts here regularly makes up the persona of S&P, Swami is just part of the mix.
Also his posts would not be brushed off anywhere else. Once again I detect some resentment of him here. He's not dumb.
It's people who take his posts personally that build up the Swami personality.
Your complements to him seem a little backhanded. I'm just noticing the tone of the post. As long as we get topics on Swami himself he will seem larger than life.

I am also NOT a stoned teenager. I am a 40 year old computer programmer and IT technician. I haven't smoked marijuana in over 12 years. I think Swami tends to stick to the most practical road, though I do not share it, I do admire pragmatism for it's clean simplicity.

Every thread he starts is the same... Care to wager this is in error?
"I just amaze myself with how smart I am!" Nah, got over that a long time ago. Now I am amazed at how youthful and sexy I am!

"Care to wager this is in error?" They are not exactly the same, but you do however push the same basic approach to reality...but I am not criticising you for it.

Swami said: My creative juices have dried up. I have dismantled every wacky argument presented and covered all known (and many unknown) topics. Now what? Do I move on and get a life? Or create more useless threads like this one?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From your post here you seem a little burnt out. You have accomplished your purpose to your satisfaction. Because you infer that you don't have a life and any futher posts in this vain would be useless. I suggest you move on and get that life.
I seriously doubt you are up to that though and I'm pretty sure you will be around for a long time to come.

You need to lose the "community" themed as they are the ones that lack content and seem less than genuine. I am sorry, but I found the "Koombayah" thread to be highly distasteful. I did like the cookie thread a little because of the controversial subject matter. Stick with the agnostic bit.

What's this about a holiday cookie thread?

Better yet...if you feel bored you could all of a sudden become "saved" and spend the next year or so expounding on the gospel.

"I'm pretty sure you will be around for a long time to come"
Fast foward to S&P in the year 2025:
Swami: Ahh, you young whippersnappers don't know a DAMN thing about those aliens. I knew they were coming, but as you know now I was a double agent working with top secret classified information so I couldn't tell anyone. Besides, I've been on here for 25 years. Don't 151,473 posts count for anything?
