While we're at it, we should probably enslave those around us who we deem to be inferior (in God's eyes, of course, not ours, never ours). That's in the bible. And we should abuse our wives because they're only property and we're only created in the first place for the enjoyment and pleasure of men.

Lots of stupid shit is in the bible. Just enough, to cancel out anything of worth and leave a mediocre story (dare I say myth) as the net result. But that's hardly the point. The Bible, as a justification for any action, is only a shield to hide behind for lack of faith in whatever divinity you truly believe in. Faith doesn't require a scripture. Dogma requires a scripture, and opressive governments always require sets of rules and myths which create a powerless mass to be subjegated. The Bible has been twisted, interpreted and re-written over the centuries and has come down to us as little more than that: a myth to support civilization and keep the peasants (you and I) in line with fear. It is offensive to say, for a great many people have /genuine/ faith IN The Bible (in God's word more directly than in God himself), but it needs saying: The Bible as it is presently utilized is a profit-making machine - it theoretically creates the ideal citizen (one too afraid to voice up their opinions about social states because of fear of 'sin', or just too apathetic because of the belief of some glorious automatic afterlife which negates all action in this one, and leaves us confused and empty here and now and trying to fill ourselves up with material). This isn't the inherent nature of the bible, merely to will of those political enterprises who manufacture its interpretation.

The trick is simply getting beyond the cultural Dogmas, and there you find that there is some sense to actual morality. Even in an anarchist state, there is no need (or logic) to act viciously all the time. All that does is end up pissing everyone else off and inducing retribution. Besides the fact that actively fucking with people all the time is tiresome.

Ish
