Over coming dark times and despair

One of the most inspiring spiritual lessons is that the greatest light is always concealed in the darkest covering.

This means that during the darkest times we are closest to the greatest times, to the greatest light.

Whenever we find ourselves in a difficult or dark situation we should remind ourselves that this situation is simply a covering on the great light that is available to us. This consciousness is also one of the strongest tools to break through the dark veil into the greatest light.

The stronger our understanding that the darkness is only a weak covering for the greatest light the weaker the veil of darkness becomes. This is not necessarily an instantaneous process although it can be. But, we should remind ourselves that every time we strengthen this consciousness the weaker the darkness becomes and the closer we are to breaking through to the most amazing light.

Seems to be how it 's been working. How else is light brought into matter? How else is the void to be fullfilled? How else is the darkness to be illumed? We have to go into it, the dark, the dense, and unknown, void and lighten it up to see and realise the unknown self as THE self that wishes to know itself.  :tongue:

Dark times bring with them great possiblilities for spiritual development.

Adversity shows us our weak points and where we are going astray. They directly reveal our negative tendencies, like a sort of magifine glass hovering over our problems showing us where we are stuck.

When we can see our dark habits they're is a tendency to shut down, to close off and block out this negativity which feels as if its going to toally overwhelm us. Instead if we open to it, just let it hang their and observe ourselves sharply without judgement or distraction.

We begin to realize that this negatviity is only a projection, like a dark cloud temporeraly obscuring the sun and blue sky which are continually preseny no matter how dark the cloud.

At that moment their is a possibility of letting go, to feel some compassion for ourselves and others who frequently experience negativity and just let go into naturalness. To disolve this cloud into the vastness of our natural condition which we have never been separted from, not even for a second.

If we have some problems doing this, then its sometimes helpful to ponder such things as "How far do i have to move to touch space?". Koans such as these function to interrupt our conceptual mind, In this way connecting us to infinte space directly.

Or so i have been told!

Im probably just lying to you!
