We are always learning, that's what's awesome about this place :headbang3: thank you for the kind words :hatsoff: I'm thrilled to be able to give back to somebody who helped so many back before I even tried my hand at growing mushrooms.

Tax: ochra culture waking up after 9 months of storage. Just a tiny shadow of mycelium on the bottom. It's been a minute since I grew some ochras, time to get back at it.

So, my ochra tub state of affair's is mid. It continued to grow and then stalled for a while and after that it started producing new myc on top of the old one. I also fucked a bit with FAE, but if I increased it, the sides would have dried up, so I'm chalking this up to overlayish genetics, which, for me at least, tend to end up with big droplets more at the middle half ... There's also some apparent myc stress as the top layer is showing signs of blue bruising and yellowing. Anything to do at this point or just leave it be?




The other tub I got going, as mentioned before, I did p9 style with a 1.5" compressed top layer. It finally reached the top. After it colonized the bottom half, I'm surprised it took almost a week to do so ...



Overall, at this point in time, I'm not to happy with these genetics. However, these are both straight from the vendors syringe which I expanded to a low nute LC (and the grain was a little bit spikey), so next up is what I "cleaned up" on agar :smile:

I find getting some early nice fruits then cloning is the ticket usually. Can do some selections based on agar / transfers

I wouldn't stress too much on the broad genetics 🧬 on first round
