As said above you may have to mist twice a day or once every few days or even not at all.

As stated in the tek, would one ever need to mist prior to the myc talking over the surface of the sub? I live in a dry climate and it seems my tubs may be drying out a touch (3 days in tubs) as I can see small and large beads of water between the sub and tote. I’m confident that my coir was at capacity. Tje myc is just starting to come up in spots on the surface, that part is looking good. I’m worried it was be a bit dry.

I should probably leave it the fuck alone is my guess.

It's an attractive part of the mono yes but if you're coming home at least once a day anyway
Even with a mono I take the lid off when I'm home.

At what point do you start taking the lid off? Pre-pin?

Hello!

Thank you for your work and guides!

I have a question tho, I'm kinda lost with all those muricans measurements.

For a 32quart monotub, how much coir (dry) and oats (dry) do I need?

Thank you!

I'm keeping this thread alive.

I bought the tubs for unmodified 6 years ago and never used them. Now im getting back into it and working on a small scale. Ima do some shoeboxes where i have no good way to cover them. My oat spawn will be clean. My coir will be pasteurized. I used to do trays in sgfcs, but don't want to deal with the mess.

Lets see how it goes.

Nice bump of one of the best threads for simplicity and BOD, you made me laugh so much (over the years lurking) with your don't GAF simple AF attitude and grow style (and replies).  I started out with the goal of a big Mono. I went straight to bird seed (PC first purchase still used today since 2010/11), never grown a cake in my life, but Franks polyfil monos (tight AF on the bottom, loose on top) is where I started (thread on RIU chompei Ozztub style inspiration as well), why, I don't know, the thrill of a big score I think, still carries weight to this day, easy to get too many playing hard in the sandbox, and growing is therapeutic for me these days (Edible woodie Blocks).

That being said, I went away from Monos pretty quickly and 6 and 12qt tubs is well... EASY AF as you put it.    In the beginning, I just wanted fruits around for myself and friends knowing where they came from helps ease the mind too.

Anyway, hey, TY BOD for being you, and not givin' AF, shoeboxes and cubes, almost as good as sex and doobs, all the best fungus friend to you and yours.

An old, outdated version of a fruiting chamber, never used one myself, more for cakes and what not if memory serves.

Willy and Gordo tend to spout information that is outdated, or just isn't needed, like we all used to run CVG, but it's not a thing anymore, save your gypsum for gardening.  Willy is a joke, Gordo, ehhh, at least he can grow some Pans and isn't completely full of nonsense, although, I wouldn't be running Pans with 30 mins on and 30 off, guaranteed to get a tray full of trich. You could def run Tamps that way, they love wet feet.

Willy showed a way for me to get into it. That was good enough. Now that I have some experience under my belt, I get to explore cleaner and more efficient pathways. Good on WillyMyco

Hey Bod

Love the tek, done it a few times and works a charm so thabks for you great dialed in teks g love it.

Ive been suffering a problem and wondered if you could help shed light. Ive bulked each time eith bucket tek and used coir in an insulated cool box.

The grow goes well, I leave it, it pins, grows, but I to it I start getting alot of nats, fungi gnat, these have come everytime to the point where I have to abort, my thinking is the coir has eggs which overtime hatch and then im overrun. You think that the eggs can survive the boil in the bucket? And is there a way to sterilise the coir without jars ? Cheers dude

Also get if u can answer ur probs a busy dude

Bucket tek would kill the eggs. It takes only a couple days for the eggs to hatch so the eggs don't stay dormant in coir or anything. Any gnats you see are from your house not the coir. The brick being dry and pressed is inhospitable to gnat eggs and the larvae. Rehydration of coir even without heat won't lead to gnats on it's own.
