Thank you - and don’t know. Room temp is 70-73f @ ~40% local humidity and I just let the tubs do their thing.
Edit - progress pics

Has anyone tried this tek with pan cyans? I currently have one colonizing so I guess I will know soon, but it would be nice to know if anyone has done it with success

sorry I meant black/white as in plastic to cover the walls. Okay thanks bod for clearing that up. I only asked because my friend told me that all the moister from the humidifier might ruin the walls and could create mold. Also what humidifiers would you guys recommend? I am looking at an Ultrasonic humidifier.

Hello! I've got a new tub and wanted to try this tek. My tub lids are a bit different, they're not coming with a rubber between the lid and tub which means they don't make a perfect seal anyway, but still don't provide enough fae performing the lid like its right way.

And if i just flip the lid it completely sits on the walls without any crack! So I think it is not gonna make enough fae. I tried putting some foled aluminum foil between the lid in two ways, one with putting a thicker foil below the lid when it is applied the right way and one with putting a thinner foil below the lid when it is applied flipped over ! Which one do u think is better ?

The flipped over version i think provides more fae though the foil is thinner, because when the lid applied the right way it curves in on the tub walls and the foil makes it higher but still the curve restricts the fae I think !

I’m a newb at bulk growing , and will be trying this tek as soon as my bags have inoculated . I do however have a couple questions , I live in a cold basement so will I need a heating pad ? Also , how is the humidity regulated ? Should I buy a humidifier or does the coco/verm make their own humidity when misted ? Sorry for the newb question and anything will help . Thank you

Hey man, Welcome.
So one thing you do need to do is have a place that it cube temp. 65-75f and that needs to be the temp for the room, not the bags or tubs. You'll get a moldy mess if you heat either directly. An absolute no no.
And the cool thing about monotubs is that they make their own humidity. most of us don't have humidifiers.
Other than that.... stick to a recent tek very closely! thats the key to success.
cheers!

I’m still new to this and was curious if these tubs look alright. I hope the images are clear enough to see what’s happening. I put in some hygrometers and they are showing 100% and there are small beads of water on the surface of the substrate. I have been fanning and misting a couple times a day for the past two days. This is day 10 after starting the tubs. I’m not getting much condensation if any on the sides of tubs or lids, but the room is rather warm which may be a factor. I just hope that this isn’t too dry or too wet. Still trying to get a feel for it I guess. Any feedback is much appreciated (=

It’s too blurry to see everything but overall it looks good. You should have pins any day based on the knots.

Flip the lid and use the thick tinfoil to create a decent gap.

Thanks for getting back to me. Damn you blurry photos (= Hope these close up pictures help. They are taken right after a mist

I did one of these yesterday following Bodhi's video, and I'm wondering how much condensation I should be seeing. I've been doing shoeboxes recently and traditional mono's years ago.
I was seeing no condensation, so I flipped the lid to right side up but not latched and see condensation on the lower walls. I use the dryer end of field capacity; I can squeeze out some drops but definitely less than in the RR video. This has worked well in shoeboxes and they would show a lot of condensation, but with this tub there's an obvious greater area of vertical empty space. I've gotten pretty good at gauging surface conditions and making adjustments, and I'm playing it by ear right now.
Any opinions?

Give the tub more time before you start worrying about condensation.

So you think I should flip the lid back to upside down?
