Beef, I recently saw in one of your posts that you were watering when pins appeared in your tubs.

I wanted to ask — up until what point in the cubensis development is it safe to expose them to direct water?

Hugs

At all points.  Ive started doing it daily just to get the dongs bigger.

Do you bottom water or surface water?

Also it makes sense that misting tiny beads of water on the surface initiates pins that are literally the relative same size of the water droplet.

Beef brings a good point about how in nature, mushrooms love to grow the morning after a heavy rain

My logic tells me:
Water droplets (morning dew) = pinning formations

Heavy rain = mycelial water reserve to grow fruits big AF

I find this very interesting, and just to clarify, we are talking about first flush also? I always thought that the hydration of your cake weather it be CVG or whatever, if at field capacity, water should be good for a first flush. After the first one you would hydrate for next flushes.

How about the racist, sexist, phobia soup we've all been drowning in because of him? And I'm not just talking about Jesus. I'm talking about all organized religion - exclusive groups created to manage control, a dealer getting people hooked on the drug of hope, his followers nothing but addicts who want their hit of bullshit to keep their - their dopamine of ignorance, addicts afraid to believe the truth - that there is no order, there's no power, that all religions are just metastasizing mind worms meant to divide us so it's easier to rule us by the charlatans that want to run us.

I wonder what mushrooms do when it rains? 🤔

I just watered all my tubs that have full fruits with caps about to open trying to push them one last time.  Ive been obsessed with trying to crack the micro-fruit mystery of yeti.  So far,  honesly no real luck but daily flooding does help.  Its genetic.

Flooding DOES sortof stop more pins from forming so you need to be comfortable with the number of pins you do have.  Misting is better if youre still trying to get more pins but once you have enough, flood that shit.  Luke warm water

I didnt invent this btw.  I got it from bakedbeings.

I have two reishi shoeboxes that are going crazy, Two Pan Cyan shoeboxes going because the girly wanted to try those out and babayaga said they were as easy as cubes, and two shoeboxes of actual cubes, one of which is freshly spawned blue meanies and the other JMF which is currently pinning.

I've been documenting the pans and pan on posting about it if i can ever get them to fruit, it had crazy thick overlay,,,, more on that later.

I went ahead and misted them this morning and you're right,,,, what DO they do when it rains?? They Grow!! :mushroom2:

So once i have a full pin set im happy with and they are maturing, give it a healthy dose of luck warm water to really boost the H2O content for max boost. I'll probably try that on my next round so i can experiment.

This is all great info thank you Beef!

By no means am I an expert, I just got my first set of pins. I have/had the same belief. BUT what I've learned with this in the last week is that if your FAE is too high and your sub dries faster than normal (even if field capacity was good going into it), Re-misting and then limiting FEA would create those conditions.

So I don't think its a 'Matter of fact' but a relative statement due to the state of the moister content of the sub. So if you need to mist to compensate for lack of moisture (even if field capacity was good going into it), at no time will it be a bad time.

Please anyone tell me to shut up if I'm wrong just throwing my baby noob 2 cents out there from my most recent experience.

I can't keep up the the big brains here; I'm just a dime-store comedian, fishing for chuckles. Like a leach, sucking the sweet nectar of knowledge off their brain broth for my own kicks and personal benefit. Laughter is the only currency I have among the big brains. My master plan is the sync their chuckles into harmonic resonance so they'll all like me and pat me on the back someday. Until then...

This is the part thats just SO hard to teach.  Its easier done than said.  Intuition comes with experience.
