I've been doing similar for years. However, I skip the pre-mix simmer in a different pot.

I add maybe a 1/4 teaspoon of agar and maybe (I eyeball it these days) 25 ml of water in the petri & stack 2-4 high. Cover stack with foil (probably optional) and gently (so it doesn't slop/spill) put in PC for 30mins. I used to use the 1/4 pint masons but now I use those pp5 holy grail containers. Never a boil over.

Had this pioppino bag sitting around for years, it has long since been entirely grown over so I couldn't see inside. It felt good with a weight and squish test so I've kept it around for whatever reason. Never gotten these to fruit going by the typical metrics of success but I'd like to. Was curious about trying it out in a dreamer tub I'm working on since I don't have anything ready to put in there, and there's an old Pioppino bottle that I just put in the tub as well to see what it does. Cut this thing open and surprise, old fruits, with pins growing on them. Got some larger pins to try cloning and curious to see how it ends up working out in the dreamer tub

And fingers crossed for mine too. I made a bit of a mess with the cloning, so fingers crossed they'll take. If they do, I'll count myself lucky. (Especially considering we've been having heat waves and it's around 28–30°C indoors.)



The ones in the back are already looking like they're on the right track.
