Instapot ez grain Tek(Millet)๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ * 5

Yo hey everyone๐Ÿ˜Š So I've been at this hobby for about a year now with a relatively high rate of success. I recently switched my grain tek to the ez millet grain prep Tek already on here but with a twist to suit my methods.
My buddy Agar wedge suggested I make this write up once I got my measurements down fully as they thought my Tek could be helpful to others so that's what this post is all about, giving back to the shroomery community(love y'all ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฉท).
Ok to start, the main two differences between my method and the original, is the fact I use an insta-pot and pint sized jars. With this Tek you can make 4 pint sized grain jars at a time.

Step 1. Gather your supplies. You will need dry millet and pint jars with modified lids(I just put a small hole in them and then cover with paper tape for gas exchange).And of course your trusty insta-pot plus some foil.

Step 2. Prep grain jars(this is the easiest part). Just like the previous millet Tek already here on shroomery your going to use half the measurement of your dry grain for your water. For the pint sized jars I've narrowed the best measurement as 3/4 a cup dry grain, and 3/8 a cup water then put your lid and foil on๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ


Step 3. Get your instapot ready. A big tip I wanna add is make some foil balls to lift whatever rack your using to set the jars up on. This will prevent the boiling water from being all on the bottom of your jar and bursting a bunch of grains. As far as water level I usually add enough water to go up to about 1-1.5 inches deep.


Step 4. Now that your jars are made and insta-pot is ready simply load it up and then set it on "high" pressure cook. Since an insta-pot doesn't get up to 15psi and is more estimated at 11-12.5 psi I double the time to be safe and set the insta-pot for 3hrs.
Also don't forget to push down the black "vent" button once you turn it on and turn off the "keep warm" setting.



Step 5. Once steam starts escaping turn on a ten minute timer. This is to vent out all the non-sterile air inside. Once timer is up flip the black switch/button on the back(same button you push down to vent)to seal it up and the timer you had set will automatically start counting down as soon as pressure is fully built and it's up to temp, so after flipping the button now you just wait on the instapot to do its magic.

Step 6. Once it's done you wanna wait till the little metal thing on the back that'll be sticking up next to the vent button to go all the way back down. That means it's depressurized and safe to open(DO NOT open as soon as it's done and do not vent it yourself the quick change in temp can crack or break the jars).


Step 7. Now that pressure is down its time to take your jars out and shake them(take caution as they are still hot). I recommend waiting at LEAST 24 hrs while periodically shaking the jars to remove any excess water before inoculation(this is CRUCIAL to avoid wet rot and having clean spawn). They should come out looking like this:




And once all excess water is gone about a day later you should be ready to inoculate๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿฝ My personal preferred method is agar plates to noc em up with, but do whatever method has worked best for you๐Ÿ˜Š.
