Grain Tek Sterilization

I heard that you cant sterilize grain as you could with a simple steam pot when you are doing pf style tek cakes. I dont have a pressure cooker and want to do a grain tek, is there any other way I can sterilize the grain without a PC?

Just heating from what I read, but I imagine when water gets up to 212F, there is some steam. Hell, I know it for a fact. So both.

Steam has a higher specific heat than liquid water. Liquid water turns to steam at 212 F. Steam, if dense enough (pressurized), can reach much higher temperatures w/o dissapating into another form.

I've heard that you may be able to nuke the grain, or use the oven, but I'm not entirely sure so I'll leave that answer up to the more-informed among us.

Best just to PC it. An oven will most likely burn the crap outta it with dry heat.

the absolute only way to steralize grain is to use a pressure cooker.. any other way will NOT work!

spend $80 and buy a 20 quart pressure cooker.. it's worth the $$ trust me.
