There are checks and balances, systems in place legally to prevent one branch of the government from having too much control over things such as the military.


Imagine if another country hostile to the US, like Iran or Russia or China, put the pressure on the US and finally initiated a secret strike to kidnap president Trump and his Wife.  I can guarantee you that by nightfall everyone would be ready to go to war against whoever did this.

How did they get Maduro on day one? I know its a bananna republic but even Gaddafi had his gang of female bodyguards


I would have though he would have hid out in underground bunker or something, make US flatten the city to get him. I dont think he surrendered, he's going to US prison for decades.

And I don't want to give Trump kudos for a quick job well done either. There must be another answer here.....

Apparently Maduro had met with chinese officials on increasing bilateral cooperation between the two countries earlier in the evening around 8pm, with strikes and capture being around 1am.

Makes me kind of nervous as a Canadian in a province that produces drugs. We had a bunch of fentanyl, meth and MDMA labs busted here in the last year including super labs. Probably a lot more operating under the radar.
