Ive often heard boys are harder when they are kids, girls are harder from the teens on.

Boys you gotta keep alive till ten, girs you gotta protect forever.

Another way ive had it put to me is with a boy you only have to worry about one penis, with a girl you have to worry about all of them.

I was the "emo bitch drama queen" daughter. All it means is that she doesn't want to play the role society has laid out for her, which is basically to be pleasant and unquestioning when any male says anything to her. Dads (and moms who struggle with internalized misogyny) tend to see their daughters as "bitches" simply for standing up for themselves or talking back because little girls are supposed to listen to their daddies. Meanwhile sons are called "chill" for not talking back even though they are LITERALLY SO VIOLENT AND CRAZY so much of the time. Yeah, who cares if he's jerking off to beheading videos? He's so easy to raise! This shit bothers me so much. Like, if boys are so much easier to raise than girls, WHY DO ALL THE MEN SUCK??? WHY ARE ALL THE WOMEN LITERALLY SO AWESOME??? Maybe, JUST maybe, if we stopped calling our sons "chill" and our daughters "bitches" when it's SO INCREDIBLY LIKELY TO BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND, we might get somewhere with the evolution of this fucking species...

A very man-hatey rant because PLEASE STOP REFERING TO DAUGHTERS AS BITCHES but don't read if you don't hate men.

It's pretty easy to avoid people that suck, and what parts you were born with literally have nothing to do with if you're a bad person or not.

This right here is why our shit's fucked.

1. No, boys are never harder or easier to raise than girls. Girl behavior is policed from a much younger age while boys tend to be left to their own devices until their behavior is harder to control. When girls (and boys!) are teens, they're coming to realize that the adults in their lives aren't gods. They question shit. Difference is, boys are expected to have a certain level of autonomy that society doesn't want girls (or women) to have. Teen girls want freedom and knowledge just like boys, but society at large strongly discourages those pursuits (hence men calling their daughters "bitches").

2. Boys are left to the fucking wolves so early on. They grow up not being properly protected or shown proper affection (no more hugs from dad past ten, etc), but they watch girls and women get that protection. It breeds SO MUCH resentment that I don't think most men even realize they harbor. How many of you guys would have avoided various types of victimization growing up if your parents had cared as much about protecting YOU as they did your sister? Why is it that boys are often left out of conversations about child predators? If we protected our boys like we protected our girls, this fucking world would look VERY different.

3. Ew ew ew ew ew. IF YOU ARE A MAN WITH A DAUGHTER PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIND A WAY TO THINK ABOUT HER SEXUALITY AS LITTLE AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE THANK YOU.
