go to the find/grow section and read some of the begginer teks (PF mmgg ect.) they will get you started quickly and cheaply. The Mushroom Cultivator is a great book but in my opion its more geared towards the little more advanced grower. Once you get started yu will see how rewarding the hobby really is. You will love every second of it.

From start to finish, my whole setup cost me about $30. I suggest the Shroom Wizard Tek. Very easy and very cheap.

Unusually for an interest such as this it is good cheap AND fast, highly reccomended.

Definately start with a strain of cubensis, like ecuadoran, or that new one from cambodia that ryche is gonna have for sale soon. if u are worried about contamination, use a pressure cooker, that eased alot of my worries :smile: :smile: when innoculating, don't try all the fancy stuff thats in mushroom cultivator. gloveboxes are the biggest pain in the ass in mycology. use your oven, i tried that with my jars and only 1 out of twelve was contaminated! try some stuff with agar though, not enough people use this, even though its really not that hard. get some petri dishes and agar from the cultivation station or mushroom people(links are in the links section...). If later on u do have success with P. mexicana, tell me about it, the mushroom cultivator mkes it seem so simple... bye
