Even though I lost all of my spore prints and cultures.
I discovered a single popcorn grain when cleaning my jars,
I carefully transferred it from the jar it was in onto a plate.
The jar must be at least two years old, I swear to God.

Although it was unlikely, the grain is taking off! I'm very excited.

Everyone working hard under clean conditions to make dried grain store long term and work, meanwhile IM peels one off of a two year old jar and sends it with success :lol:

Do actives degrade at pc temps? Is it possible to make tea like this to avoid freezing?

I have made tea using the PC side by side with doing it more traditionally and testing the difference. The traditional tea was a little more potent, but it was not significant enough to say that the PC cycle actually did any harm.

I just had a LCS from a trusted vendor that was undoubtedly contaminated. I contacted them about how under the microscope all I could see was contamination and they sent me a new one. The new one was good to go. You may want to try the same route.

Frankly there's no reason to buy LC unless you're doing something weird like Enigma. I've given up on LC and now I just put spores on agar. Much much better results.

Lol I told you you were destined to be the Lord of the Slippery Crossing! I got a plin of Murbah on one of my plates, but I threw that in a jar, never tried plin transfers to grain and it felt right. I'll get to compare against a MS one.

You know, to be honest, id say it's still too early too tell. I definitely see good mycelium in there. Cut a section out and cabin it.
Give the original plate a couple days to be sure it is bacterial.

Vendors are people too and still make mistakes. Talk to the vendor about it and let them know what's up. A legit one will hook you back up with extras as an apology.

Yeah, I took it up with the vendor. I’m going to try to clean it up myself as well just because I need the practice. Was just hoping it would have come out clean so I could have saved some time and space because I have so much agar stuff going on right now already.

And also when testing/using LC/sporesyringe on agar put just enough pressure on the barrel rather then the plunger, you only want a small drop.
