If this goes through, isn't this what Trump wanted?
There has to be a catch, like, they pass this and we still make the next gen shit for us, while they scramble for substandard; thereby costing Europe to remain inferior or where they are at defense wise.. This amount is about what the US spends on defense for one year.

EU's von der Leyen proposes €800 billion defense plan

The European Commission president says increasing defense spending is necessary in "an era of rearmament." A European summit on defense and Ukraine is planned this week amid tense transatlantic relations.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday presented a plan to bolster Europe's defense industry and increase military capabilities.

"We are in an era of rearmament, and Europe is ready to massively boost its defense spending," Von der Leyen said.

She said the plan, dubbed "ReArm Europe," could mobilize around €800 billion ($841.5 billion).

The announcement comes after Washington suspended all military aid to Ukraine, days after US President Donald Trump clashed with Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Oval Office.

Von der Leyen had suggested the rearmament plan after emerging from the closed-door meeting on Ukraine at Lancaster House in London over the weekend.

“I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

And the people that maintain them are not Fed employees. They are all outside contractors.
I can confidently say no maintenance contracts have been canceled. Everything  I’ve seen so far has been study’s. “Non mission critical” contracts is the correct term.

It is. The democrats turned on the hurricane machine and set it to tornado and then targeted the defunded areas to make Trump look bad.

I’ve never heard of a TV station having their own radar. What are you even talking about?

There are four radars available in the DC area
KLWX - NOAA
KBWI - FAA
KDCA - FAA
Andrew Airforce Base

Radar systems are run by NOAA, the FAA and the military. A few universities have them for training.

There are actually part of the country where there are radar deserts. Places that are too far away from a radar site to get a low level scan required to catch rotation.
