If you're worried about it sealing, soak it  acetone and scrape on the gasket. That way it'll at least stay on the jar, sans ring.

Lol mayonaise and peanut butter jars, gotta love em. Been saving up my Remia mayolight jars for years. Tried to switch to larger pickle jars: turns out they take too much space in the PC. Blijf bij je mayonaise.

I'm diggin these 15qt boxes. Anyone else running them modified? If so, could you recommend hole size and placement or even just link a write up if there is one? I couldn't find anything when I searched.

I used Eco Earth brand coco coir for the substrate. I remember reading that some people found seeds in their Eco Earth coco coir in one of their batches.

Is the tub all bad? I made 2 other tubs with the same batch of eco earth coco coir.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?


This has happened to me twice with eco earth, which is why I switched to cocobliss. It was pretty much the same price, I can get it shipped in 10lb blocks, and it holds more water than eco earth. 10/10 would recommend.

I’ve run 15qt for a while and then opted for the 16qt.  Here’s my write up for modding them but plenty of ppl have run them unmodded with success

If this was in the Cultivation confessional, I would probably also confess a bit in line with that. But I don't always, sometimes I do test it on agar.

What I dislike about LC testing on agar, is that even the tiniest drop seems go all all round and is not staying centered in the middle.

Here comes the quick question: can that 'going all around' be circumvented, f.e. by making the agar dryer? How?



I like cutting holes in my agar.

I see some metabolite in there. There is a lot of moisture, which is usually a bad sign. The few stuck grains pressed on the glass seem like they are ok since I don't see any slime around them. When I was in need of mushrooms I would have ran it at a 1:1 maybe a 1:2 ratio. Now I would toss it and start over since I don't need anything I'm just doing it for fun and to hone my ability.

Still good, Bigworm.
Remember the venting.

I run my PC by temps not pressure, and I can tell you that 250F/121C without venting pushes it to 50PSI.
After venting my PC runs at around 18PSI.

Yeah I always vent at least 15 minutes. Probably overkill but it works for me. Thanks for the answer!

If you are using mp tape or SFD lids, do you need to loosen the lids before the pc cycle?

I agree: Grains were 99% dry when I loaded them and PC them. Wonder why they got so wet.
