2 weeks from taking the cuts… :super:

We have roots! At least 2 of the 3 are showing out the bottom of the net pots. The last one looks to be rooted also, because the new leaf tip has busted open and is showing some slight growth. But I won’t mess with it until I’m 100% sure it pupped. These two are the RVT variety. One that is definitely a different variety from the traditional Rifats and Bumblebees. The shape of the leaves, the steady red petioles/veins, the green is often much deeper in the leaves, etc. it’s been a nice addition to the garden. So I’ve been trying to take cuts so I can get a strong population going and also have some extras for people I’m close to. The potency of the leaves is def different from Rifats/Bumbles also. The later is more speedy of a feeling, and the Thai is more sedating, relaxing and chill. I’ve chewed a few leaves so far, but I haven’t had any ground leaves for a full spoons worth.

Edit… shit, I gotta clear some space. But hopefully you can see the nice white roots. Call me crazy (and crazy I am! :crazy2:), but I swear the aloe dip gives much thicker and whiter roots. In the past when I rooted a different way, it took me up to 2 months to pup roots off Kratom. Whereas the aloe is usually always around 2, maybe 3 weeks :awesome:

Today I planted a rooting cutting near a pond in a local park. I'll check on it in a few months to a year. Not close enough to pick leaves often but will be cool to check out when I go there. Quite a few Brugmansia grow there naturally. I always try to find a psychotria sp. but never find any.

No pictures sadly.

Kali pink looks like a great variety to grow. They were always sold out of that one when I looked in the past. Seems like a good one though. Def keep us updated as it grows. As for the breeding, that would be a dream for me. But sadly I’ve been growing Kratom for many years and have never seen a bloom. Apparently in Florida there are some growers who have bloomed their crop and produced seed, but they never gave me much feedback on it all. I’d love to make some crosses one day

It's always exciting to see those roots popping out, isn't it? I'm fairly new to this forum, but I've been dabbling in growing kratom myself lately. I stumbled upon  Jack Botanicals while doing some research and decided to give it a shot. So far, it's been quite the journey, full of learning experiences. I'm really intrigued by your description of the RVT variety. It sounds like a fascinating addition to your garden. I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but based on what you've said, it seems like it offers a different kind of experience compared to the traditional strains. The fact that it's more sedating and relaxing definitely piques my interest.

Hi,
Maybe you can help me with some advice. I intend to grow Kanna and Kratom on tropical land that I own. The weather is fantastic and I'm assuming the soil is extremely fertile. I have the seeds but I'm wondering how I should grow them. I'm told simply plant them in the the soil and water them regularly but I'm also told that I should place the seeds in a seedling tray with soil and keep them indoors/in the shade away from the sun for a few months whilst occasionally keeping the soil moist.
Now to do this do I need a irrigation tray with holes. I own a few but I'd like to purchase an extremely large tray to house hundreds of seeds...... So which option should I choose?

Use a tray with humidity domw. Then just slow acclimate to thw shade. They transplant well and dont need full sun. Ive grown from seeds more than ten years ago. Its pretty easy. And you having a tropical climate makes it even better. Sun or shade they grow well in both

:goodluck:

I also intend to grow 500 Kanna trees and Kratom plants. Is purchasing leaf cutting a better strategy than buying seeds?

Are these leave cuttings? Where can I obtain some to grow Kratom plants and what type of Kratom leaves are they?

What is your technique to rooting kratom cuttings?
I have had very limited success and only gotten a handful to root ever.
Here are my two big trees, put them into giant pots and will get them in the ground by next year.
These are about eight ft tall right now.
Malaysian on the left, Indonesian on the right.
