yeah, these are not APEs. Vendor labeled syringe wrong as discussed in my other thread.

Hello all.

Been lurking a few days reading everything here that I can about growing mushrooms, unfortunately after already starting a few grain jars. First time grower and poster here, these are the jars I recently started (don't flame me too bad for the coffee in the grains, I started them before I ever made it to the shroomery.) But this is my first growth with popcorn and a bit of coffee added to it. The strain is PE6, inoculated from a spore syringe (again started them before finding the shroomery. I now know that is a no-no and will be cleaning agar for future grows.)




I have since inoculated some more popcorn without the coffee and with more airspace in the jars using a LC I recieved from a friend of Avery's Albino. Anyways I will post my progress along with many pictures and any questions that will inevitably arise. Looking forward to participating in the community!

Might have let these guys go for a bit too long, but I still like the marbled look of the spores and cap.



Got some solid height on them though. Same culture in the cold weather made a shit ton of smaller 2-3” ones. Now that it’s warming up they’re growing much taller on first flush.

Makes me think of tasty coffee. I wouldn’t worry too much about the spores. I’m sure they work fine.

Gonna try and  experiment with  rye mixed with different amounts of added coffee ground and trying a round of plastic lids for the first time.

They’re amazing, I can’t imagine not loving them.

I’m colonizing on rye and fruiting in Ziplock bags like this. 3 full quarts cv to 1 myco quart grain, slightly compressed, then 1/2 quart cv pseudocasing. I’ve read here that it needs a proper casing but tbh it’s hard to imaging them doing much better, they totally fill out the bag. I’ll run some larger grows from clones this summer and try out a real casing.
