Check the "Collected notes on growing natalensis" in my sig for some recapped info from this thread.

On agar nat myc can be tomentose, silken, or crazy rhizo. In my experience, the myc of clones I took went in the silky direction on agar, so it's what I've looked for.

Nat myc is really aggressive, will even try to grow out of the agar dish. It really likes FAE, and I think it doesn't like being suffocated in the dish :rofl:

I don't personally find them to be challenging but I do feel fairly comfortable on high doses.

6-8 g is a good dose, sure it's not for everyone but I love those higher doses, so much more happens.

But I do love low dose Nats as well because they make me feel great.

i really feel you about the beauty and good feeling on a low dose.
less than 0.5 and i took the metro to the citycenter, headphones with very silent ambient music.
didnt feel gone with the music at all, but fully connected with smooth people all around me (maybe got lucky)
rarely i spend time among strangers on mushrooms but this time it was a blissful experience full of love and positivity. sun was shining, and my field of view got so large and harmonious. even slightest reaminders of nature (while walking the streets) kept me feel connected.
great feeling in the body... lasted at least 3 hours

For me 2-3g would be an extremely strong dose.  1g gets me waves of OEV's so dense that I can barely see anything beyond them.  The natalensis I've had were 2-3x stronger than regular cubensis.  Although that could just be personal sensitivity or an unusually potent variety.

So I ate my twat last night. 5.5g fresh. Was not expecting much, took it before bed and figured I would sleep before it hit and possibly be treated with some lucid dreams.
Minutes after lying down, white noise became organized into rhythms and layers of textured melodies. This persisted until I felt I was part of the music, kind of vibrating along as it's center.
At this point cev's made there way into the mix and became one with the sound vibrations. The cev's where not at all cubelike but just as vivid. Less geometrical and colorful but not less intense.
Headspace was clean and happy. Like nats, if a stressful topic bubbled up, it just kept floating by. Din't grab me and send me for a spin.
Overall it felt very short and I was left with a sense of wellbeing and WAY too much energy. Still feeling good this morning. Going to take a burn in the woods on my mountain bike.
Look forward to playing with these more, will probably start with 2.5g dry after this experience.

I second that emotion... I prefer my AA+ for visuals (and baptizing my friends), but I like nats for the introspective, contemplative, manageable and feel-good vibe...

Here is my harvest from this week (minus 2 jars I powdered for capsules today) after 2 runs of the dehydrator. One oz nats per jar.





Only 1.5 oz to go until I hit the 1 pound dry mark with nats. They were slow getting off the ground, but I got there. Next trip is going to be late November/early December for both the GF and I. Our second nat trip. Looking forward to it.

For my big doses I use size 000. For my micro doses I use size 1. I buy empties here:

For grinding I use a 150g grain mill, and I use wallaby for oxygen absorbers, Mylar bags and an impulse sealer. I use a 500g capacity scale capable of .01g accuracy that was under $50 at Amazon.

Wow. I’m using the same machine as you and getting around half a gram into the bigger capsules. If I pack harder it starts damaging the capsules. What’s your secret?
