I don't think their cause is genetic but more the conditions of the plate. I've tried to clone plate-blobs before and most of the time they just produced normal mushrooms with one exception.

I bought some pink liquid food coloring today. After a PC cycle the pink has turned green.

Just whatever they have at the grocery store. Just be sure to make sure that it doesn't include Red#3 as it has antifungal properties.

My favorite reusable dish boiled over and the agar solidified on the lid.
Oyster making the jump g2a, seems to enjoy the grain+wood water.

My triched out KSSS, 2.5 transfers in big dish. Photo focused on "trich", making some progress. Not sure if I should just transfer off my known myc. Or wait a bit and see if these shadows are even trich, has my classic appearance but in way less quantity. Used a 9 gauge guitar string which is quite thin.

Almost ready to go to grain. Before I isolated a good culture I thought ovoid mycelium was just a lot slower than cubensis.

Mold or myc?

MS RW inoculated on 9/16 PDA agar

I have another plate that seems like clean and uniform tomentose myc that I took transfers from, but this one was a little wispy and almost invisible, I assumed it was really fresh myc that just started growing though. I took a transfer from a spot that was more white than wispy/see thru.

The swab was also in the middle but got dislodged and fell to the side when I was inspecting it one day. The myc just started to show up within the last few days. There was no myc growth when the swab dislodged

I've definitely saw people post mycelium from ms or swabs that looked *somewhat* similar to this when it first starts growing but I'm not sure if there's mold within the myc or if it's all mold.



The only reason I'm asking and didn't just toss it, is that it took awhile to start growing. I figured if it were a mold it would have been quicker to show up

It smelled like myc rather than mold but I'm not sure my nose is that honed in either so lol

I'm new to growing pans and so still trying to figure out how the various types of healthy mycelium look.

Here is one T1 from MS, which looks good and normal to me:



And here is another one that looks very different:


Both are growing at the same speed - rapidly. And I knocked up probably 10 plates from 8 different spore prints of different pan varieties and more than a few of those plates have mycelium that look like the second photo.

Is the second plate ok or toast? If it's toast, does anyone know what it is?

Anyone have any idea on this growth? All inside the plate.
Tendrils reaching towards top of petri dish..took a transfer, was very soft like a spider web. Interesting growth to me nonetheless!

To my knowledge a cube that fruits, or can be forced to fruit in a generally colder climate. Higher exposure resistance
