cut a wedge of mycelium out and put into another plate of agar. more precaution should be taken to ensure that the same exact thing dosen't happen. agar plates should be wrapped in parafilm to keep bacteria from entering the sides.

its ready just take a wedge of the myc and transfer to a new dish. well i would take a few wedges and do a few off of that one just incase it happens again to one but not the other.
good luck

Well it's either ready or garbage you pick. From what I understand of agar methods it is plenty healthy to move without dying.

thanks..
it still seems a little "thin"

anyways, when slicing the myc from the agar, do you cut deep enough to penetrate throught the agar itself? or do you simply just cut off the myclelium alone?

Since your mycelium appears to be healthy, it could probably handle a bit of H2O2 in the next culture.

Are you familiar with the peroxide agar tech?

thanks for the link..
i have 3 petri dishes ready right now with peroxide in it..
and 3 more petri dishes with out peroxide..

Just cut several pieces of mycelium the size of a grain of rice from the leading edge of your growth and transfer to new dishes to get the healthy mycelium away from the bacteria. When germinating spores on agar, I never allow the initial growth to get larger than 1/2" (1cm) before beginning transfers.

Cut through the mycelium and the agar and transfer both to the new dish, but remember, only a very small piece. If you transfer a large wedge, there is a greater chance you'll also transfer some of the contaminant along with it.

This is the reason we use agar. It's for isolation from contaminants, which can't be done in the three dimensional space of an LC or grain/brf jar.

Wrap your dishes with parafilm. Leaving a petri dish unwrapped is like using a grain jar without a filter.
