Are you talking about the variety called TAT, or are you saying it would be cool if someone got a tattoo of AKA's photo there, or one like it?

That would be a nice and unique tattoo. Same with any tattoo only a grower would get.

A whole lot of people have shroom tattoos.

How many have mycelium on agar tattoos?

How many have a tattoo of a jar of grain with rhizo growing in it? Not many. If I did that I'd do about half colonized. Would make more sense as what you're looking at.

I inoculated some agar plates with syringe last Saturday. One week later, I've seen no growth in 69 F room temp. I've now placed the agar plates on top of my A/V receiver which brings the temp to 86 F and letting them sit there. Hoping to get faster growth this way. I was able to remove significant condensation by placing them upside down on the A/V receiver, so that was a plus as I can actually see the agar now.

If anyone has any thoughts, please share.

My stuff seems to come on average about a week later. 69 is fine. 86 is asking for trouble in my opinion.

Yeah if you haven’t seen any growth at all in a week at 69f there’s probably something wrong.

I’m gonna guess you’ll see some contams blowing up soon with the temp bump.

Starting with spores to me is a hopeful activity. When we are starting out, its usually from someone else... and you are not in control of their offerings. I have definitely purchased a syringe filled with pure water before. If I wasn't held back with these blasted ethics, I'd def look into that business model.

I have more fun with spores when I start a few different sources at a time, only expecting something to grow, not everything. Things get much better when you begin to collect the spores yourself.

Have a couple of plates that are cleaned up a bit from a syringe that was super old! Is the lighter color inner ring a sign of bacteria under? There are no growth bumps in the mycelium and the plate did have a bit of surface water from condensation. Any thoughts?
