I have been using a 2% turbindo sugar 10% MEA agar 10% telephone agar and 5% BRF. Distilled water. Agar to LC to wbs will post pictures soon. More PE

i got it by mistake so why not use it see how it does.  Ingredients say malted barley flour, dextrose, wheat flour.

It looks like most of y'all are using petri dishes. I'm all set to do Pasty's agar TEK with the Glad Mini Rounds already, so that's what I will start with, but what is everyone's opinion on using petri dishes vs the little tupperwares? What are the benefits for doing it all legit sciency?

never tried the tubberware containers.  But before i got into agar i did use the tiny ball jars with one of the brf agar teks and had good results.

The only thing I could think of, besides having a better view, would be the fact that they are more compact. That seems like it would make it a little easier to work with.

I confess oops... wrong thread. I've yet to use pasty's plates. I think that I would have less contams if I did but I started with petris and am getting comfortable with them. I will use some in the future but for now, I've got a fairly high contam rate and I'm not gonna abandon my petri technique until I figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've got a thing where I hate leaving a job half finished and if I start a different tek, it'll bother me the whole time knowing that I didn't figure out my sterile petri technique.

I bought a bunch to try but went back to petris as I preferred the visibility of petris and less to no condensation. I occasionally pour a few deli containers though for swab dunks

I think I chose the wrong spot on that bottom transfer 1st plate. Should have done 9-11 o'clock what do you think?

I’ve never tried pasty plates or any of the little Tupperware methods but everytime I go to knock up jars I wish I could just dice up and squeeze the whole puck out at once like you can with those.
