All of them on petri right now.

Sounds a bit like my current lineup! Ya mono's are my favorite so far. Once you have em dialed in they basically automate themselves. Plus, with a reliable mushroom like subtropicales you can easily dial monos in just by watching how they are growing.

That aztecorum is gonna require a fridge FC. I was gonna make Bob's mini fridge FC for it but I'm pivoting to focus on only a few species at a time now.

Plus, I need to figure out where my failures in LC production are coming from...

I've yet to try grain-free, but I tried LC (on agar bottle) -> Sterilized subs with BRF/bran and it seems to work well so far.

Hey guys-- I have a jar of Zapotecorum that has been creeping slowly towards colonization for a few weeks now-- I just took another look at it and it's almost completely done-- I'm guessing maybe another week and I can start thinking about spawning it to sub :smile:

the rest of the jar is knotting now as well but that's 2 weeks behind this little cluster lol, not bad for cased grain on a shelf at room temp

I'm pretty sure that I have monokaryons of caerulescens, iirc var. weilii. :smile:
Might be interesting to cross it with another variety of caerulescens?

My bags with a mix that had leaf litter sucked, apparently even with tyndallization-sterilization too much to ask. So I use straw pellets now, with poo and blood meal etc, and pseudoaztecorum is doing pretty great on it and i don't have any contams (yet) this entire batch.

All the more reason to get this custom humidibucket-like thing finished asap!

Pretty cool to have made my first monokaryons. :smile: Gonna have a lot of fun :laugh:

Unfortunately still zero germination on my weraroa... even on nutritive media (so far) a la JOC...
Giving Pholiotina cyanopus germination also another shot; with that medium.

With the weraroa, would it make sense to put plates in 30C temperature? or even a bit higher if i can manage it, for stratification?

Gave a friend Pan bisporus spores he's growing it right now..

The pseudoaztecorum I have I thought i read it grows in (sub)tropics, found in India? But it needs a fridge setup the aztecorum? You sure you can't just fake it with a "cold shock" and then grow them at room temp after the pinning? :x mycorry?

    Give it time my weraroa germed like 4-5 weeks in room temps. Didn't even know if what germed was it until I saw it growing on cardboard. Nice rhizo growth.

    They look pretty distorted whatever they are. That's definitely not traditional looking.
