There’s only a handful of threads I come to this site for...this is now one of them.  I only wish i had 500 more pages to browse through

Still got 24 days before my new account can enter the marketplace...anyone have a Semperviva print they’d be willing to part with? I probably don’t have anything you exoticas would wanna trade for, but never know til ya ask

This tray continues to flush for well over a month! Completely resistant to contamination I can see mold buildup on the kratom  cloner below (cleaned tonight) And I know that any other Trey I would’ve placed in the same conditions would have been grossly contaminated by now. I’m coming up on 15 dry grams total harvest from about 2/3 quart of spawn. While I’ve gotten no where near a canopie my yield now is proving to be worth while. Still more coming up at the same rate. The first two harvests were the most dense, things slowed down a little bit after (pin formation) that but they have not declined again since then and it’s been several weeks
Very interesting myCory they do look the same so far! My incubation time on this ^ grow was 8 months but maybe it didn’t have to be.... I got more non pap (psilocybe aintyapapiences Lol)  spawn  rdy for bulk now so ho-ray 4 mush play!!

Ya these seem to be VERY contam resistant. One of my backup plates had a penicillin patch that developed after the xfer away from the plate, well, 3 months later and the myc grew over the penicillin like it didn't matter. Same thing happened with one of my Caerulescens plates last year.

THIS ONE THO

:heytheresexy:
Did you clone any? I'd clone that one

I'm pretty stoked how this all worked out. I thought I was getting papuana but instead I get this rad mystery mushroom. I'm still looking for papuana though. If you NZ hunters or old timers have any spores lemme know

I just got hold of some lovely Zapotecorum to grow in a Trich seed trade, and I've been poring over everything related in here-- trying to make sure I don't screw it up... my post is just to give you guys a great big hug for being so fucking inspiring in here, and so that I can keep up with what you guys are doing until I can post some progress pics of my own here

I don't know how I missed your comment.

I would love to know your strategy with Beaos. I was going to sterilize some wood chips /w BRF  and noc with some Beao LC but from what I read they seem to like rotted wood only. I have very little exp with wood loving species :frown:

Do unusual cubes count? I have sporeless clones of a Mexican x Aus cross. It used to be a heavy spore producer but an entire round spontaneously turned sporeless last year. My theory is that I was growing in a basement that had radon issues because before that happened I kept getting entirely mutant tubs while the same spawn grown in a different location grew normally. After I cased them they started to produce normal weight flushes of very small sporeless fruits that I then cloned. They grow about the same as a multispore culture, 25-30 days to harvest and produce about 100% BE.

Hey guys

Am colonizing zapotecorum with a substrate mix i came up with, seems to be going great.
And a number of other exotics are defininitely following int he pipeline.

Am anxiously waiting for my weraroa spores to germinate... 2/3 clean plates left.....

I was wondering.. adding clay/sand/soil seems to make a difference for some species. I heard not only stone producers but I think also landslide mushrooms and probably a lot of other exotics, correct?

From your experiences, is this more usually because of soil life that is symbiotic or more about the physical properties of the sand/clay somehow triggering good developmental stages because it simulates the way they grow in nature, such as being mostly buried under sandy clay but not entirely?
They would then be more happy to fruit in order to escape from the potential trapping under a lot of mud?

What difference does pasteurization make or even sterilizing the sandy clay along with the substrate mix?

Place the baeos spawn to pasteurized straw it looks really good on it. Also pasteurized some pine straw and it likes that too.

Now you just gotta pluck out the biggest cluster you find and clone its butt while it young!

These are in your GH right? If so I am very interested in what final height they reach maturity at. I havn't gotten a single fruit to grow past pin stage in a GH

Thanks bud!

No as per your advice I built a moded tub specifically for subtropicalis it’s basically a traditional mono however the filters on the openings are all kept thin then I have the fogger ran into the top of the tub I manually turn the fogger on and off to keep the tray where I like it but they definitely prefer much less moving air JOC tech fries them every time.

It is VERY good to hear you confirm that as I have had nothing but failure with these in my GH. I went from these things growing like weeds in whatever bullshit container I had around, only to find them helpless under the tyranny of(what I thought would be)excellent fruiting conditions...

The RH in my area is usually from 30-40% and I easily fruited them in small monos with no polyfil(with holes at casing height). The first and only bruising I ever got from dryness was on the tender gills of mature fruit. I then provide them with a 60%-90% RH cycle in a GH and they die off fast or only get one anemic flush.......IDK

I got some pins out of a few bags that have a mold infestation in the casing. I had these bags in my Murderous GH where they pinned heavily, aborted spectacularly then developed this white casing mold.

I was going to throw them out but instead put them in some tall shoeboxes that I spray and fan every day. 3 weeks later and they have pinned again! The Zapo pinned just as heavily as the first time but the weilii has only produced about 10 good pins.

Sorry for the bad photos

Zapotecorum(Zapo1A KnotClone2) is the result of a cloned knot of 10+ pins from an old agar dish:

Id say there are maybe 100+ pins here. Which is great considering maybe 2 will make it to adult if i'm lucky

Caerulescens var Weilii(Weilii BB)

The side pins from this bag look the most healthy because they don't have to fight the mold in the casing.

I have 3 more fully colonized bags of each culture that I havn't touched yet so watching these hobble along isn't so heartbreaking.

MAYBE I SHOULD JUST PUT EM IN A COOKIE JAR IN MY KITCHEN :oldman:

You have a case of mildew on the casing. Good news is it won't feed on the sub itself or the fruits. The way you describe the incident it sounds like an FAE issue  :fearandloathing:

 I'm gonna keep a close eye on how that jar performs next to your normal trays. I know that currently there is a big hole in my understanding of exotic's needs and I believe that the comparison of your grows will shed a lot of light for me.

Good catch! I believe this to be 100% true. Back when I was battling my GH with these 2 bags I was cycling between way too much air replacement and nowhere near enough. The latter end led to the development of this mildew. Since moving them out I have kept them in these tall shoeboxes with 2 holes on the lid and that's it, as I thought these were trash anyways. Since I have added holes but the early aborts are all still there.

Danke!

Cool haha cloning knots  seems potentially hard not to also get some surrounding tissue?

I had a pair of pretty grown semperviva fruits on agar, I tried to cut them for cloning but even with a fresh scalpel they were terribly stringy so I ended up just transfering the whole thing. In both cases curiously the cap started to contam but i easily transfered before that and got a great looking isolate.

My best zapo bag is now looking like this:
