Thank you, mostly coir with sum shredded straw and aged manure, cases with 50/50, ran in a mod tub dialed specifically for them

I think I am going to attempt an indoor fruiting of the gym pur. I’ve heard anthem being available in some of the northern regions of the us during may-august in some cases. Again I don’t know much about gym purpuratus because there’s just not much out there on it but I have something I’ve been working on for woodlovers. It’s not ready yet though...:wink:

Jake, did you do anything special for the Semperviva? I have heard they don't
like a lot of air movement.

I feel like I saw a super easy semp tek somewhere here a while ago, but either way jake you should do a tek on them or something. I'm trying to get a handle on exotics and don't really have the space for a gh, so I'm limited to Tamps, natalensis, and hopefully these.

Captain Future has posted an excellent Semperviva guide on here-- but I would love to see Jake do one-- his results are also incredible!

I have some mycobags on the way that I planned on using with Semp's, but they have been lost in the mail for well over a week now :banghead:

I believe I may first try a simple shoebox method once I have a quart fully colonized this week.

Speaking of Semperviva, my quart is fully colonized!
I don't see any sign of contamination but I've also never grown this species before, so I don't want to miss something.
Can you guys look at it closely and see if you detect anything wrong?

That's how it's always looked to me. On plates and in jars, it's very uniform.
I'm right behind you, I think. Have 3 nice plates and I'm just gonna try

I’m getting some Aztecs as well do you know the parameters or needs yet? I don’t know much about them. I’m working on papuana and zaps as well at the moment.

Just finished PC'ing a mycobag with straw pellets(~60%), a little bit of coir (15%), and h-poo compost (25%) that I will use for my Semperviva grainspawn above.

I made it a little bit on the drier side, as it's my first mycobag-- but it was very moist and fluffy when I put it in.

I don't post a lot, however I've been working on Aztecs for a few months now, here's what my tub looks like now, just started it:



I started "rotting" mixed hardwood pellets (with some cow poop, potting soil, straw, dead leaves, and mixed hardwood chips in January, placed all that in a few 5 gallon buckets to get snowed and rained on. Let three jars of basically the same mix as the buckets (with some rye grain for supplemental nutrition) colonize completely then mixed then into the tub (15q sterile) in the pictures. Tub is 10q of rotting wood mix, ~7q hpoo, 8q potting soil pasteurized at @170 for only 1.5 hours. Kinda wanted it to not be as sterile. I cased it with pine needle debris I collected from near Keystone, CO.

Put everything in on the 14th, already have growth I'm happy about, especially on the tiny pine cones and sticks. Currently chillin in an unfinished downstairs room @65°F

All is well so far, still working on how I'm gonna get them to pin.

I’ve been finding it’s almost better to be a little on the drier side with myco bags because once you start to get near the end of colonization and the myc starts compressing everything and squealing the water out everything not colonized starts to get wetter and harder for the myc to colonize what once was feild capacity or at least that’s my experience thus far with hpoo and straw.

Just make sure the filter patch isn’t up against the plastic on the inside and gas can be exchanged.

There's a gap-- I'm excited to see how it does.
It's in the same space as my plants, so it'll get up to the upper 70's in the day when the lights are on, and down to the high 60's at night.

On a related note, I have all the components for LC making, so next week (or 2) I will cut some fresh agar plates to use in spawning them, which is the real reason I got the bags.
