I didn’t claim anything. I’m simply telling you with what Mulvaney said. His own words, not mine.

"Mick Mulvaney just admitted to a quid pro quo" is a claim.

Where in the clip does he admit to a quid pro quo in "his own words"?

I posted a qoute where, in his own words, he says something opposite.

Actually he didn’t say something different

Stay classy, Citizen X.

Sarc/off. The way I see it he had an animated news conference in which he tried to sound witty and entertaining. He explained that the withholding of funds was because of the corruption in Ukraine and EU inaction. Then he got a bit ahead of himself and tried to make a more general point that foreign policy is subject to politics. In this context he said that you withhold funds in order to make other clown do what you want - for example investigate - and that, ultimately, it is Trump's call what happens. The reporters picked up on it and asked a follows up question along the lines "was there a quid pro quo" to which he answered "no the money that was held up had absolutely nothing to do with Biden". As you see in the breaking news more clarifications followed.

People are not computers and I would be willing to accept that, as part of a lively exchange, he overextended the "get over it" claim to a point of confusion. He than clarified it a few minutes later and again when the news broke. In any case, he newer "admitted to a quid pro quo" "in his own words" -  do you agree at least with this bit?

A similar thing happened to Trump post Charlottesville:

"you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides" (...) "I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the White nationalists, because they should be condemned totally — but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and White nationalists"

In a sleight of hand the media went  for over two years claiming that Trump said neo-Nazis and white supremacists were "fine people".

In other Trump news, Rick Perry says he's not sticking around as Energy Secretary much longer. One of the major tenets in human resource management is attract and retain the best talent. I wont be sorry to see him go but Trump can't seem to retain anyone except Pence.

There were many people in the white supremacy march that arent neo-nazis or white supremicists?
That sounds like some bullshit to me, but maybe some are just old fashioned rebel traitors i suppose.
That said, i dont see why confederate losers shouldn't  be condemned totally

That does not answer my question - did you hear him say "I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the White nationalists, because they should be condemned totally — but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and White nationalists" before asserting that his "fine people" claim applied to neo-Nazis and white supremacists?

Trumpy doesnt get to decide who is or isn't a scumbag nazi.  Did trump run a background check on everyone in the march for white supremacy?  I doubt it.  He's a nazi apologist, plain and simple.  It doesn't  matter that he claimed that some of them were just folks out for a stroll

It does answer your question . There weren’t any non  Nazis in that group as far as I’m concerned and it’s completely ridiculous to even suggest otherwise .

Did you run a background check on everyone in the march, to decide if they were all nazi scumbags or, perhaps, just people exercising their 1st Amendment right to demonstrate in support of keeping what they viewed as historic statues?

They may have just been brain dead trump lovers who were too stupid to know what they were getting themselves into .
That’s totally plausible , not as likely as more trump supporters are Nazis than we think though .

It does not not answer my question at all. I asked if you had heard the part of Trump's speech where he explicitly says that he was not talking about neo-nazis and white supremacists when he mentioned "fine people on both sides", before deciding for yourself that his "fine people" comments applied to neo-nazis and white supremacists. I am not questioning your interpretation of the events on the ground but only asking if you heard the full speech before deciding what Trump meant.

Did you?

Its an irrelevent question.  There were 2 groups present.  Those marching in support of white supremacy and traditional confederate values like white supremacy and those opposed.

So are you saying that, at a march organised to protest the removal of the Confederate statues, there were no people who were simply concerned about the loss of heritage, without being neo-Nazis or white supremacists? I mean normal people who work, pay taxes and would prefer to keep the Robert Lee statue as a reminder of the painful past or just an architectural ornament? People you would otherwise have a beer with but who happen to have a different opinion on the balance between past events and current sensitivities?

If so, what gives you confidence that the people I describe above were not there? You brought up background checks as a way to confirm who stands for what...

We will get to it but first - can you please confirm if had heard the full speech before deciding in your own mind that Trump's "fine people" comment was meant to cover neo-nazis and white supremacists. In particular I am referring to the "I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the White nationalists, because they should be condemned totally" disclaimer which followed the "fine people" comment.

Did you?
