Thanks. Maybe i grabbed some tam or just shit genetics. Gonna find a plate stone and transfer that for a second attempt to work from incase these jarrs don't come around.

Hey Friends,  I am glad to see that some of you are making great progress with this Blue Pearls experiment.  Congratulations for your successes thus far!  As posted earlier today, I destroyed much of my "evidence" having been concerned that this website was down, possibly due to big brother, and concerning my recent activity with this project I think my worries weren't unjustified.  Well, I will be rebuilding my projects over the next week or two.  Fortunately I have a plate of blue pearls growing (with actual blue pearls formed!) so won't be re-starting from spores, but I will be now officially behind many of you.  I can't wait to read the evaluations from some of you hopefully soon.

FWIW I switched all my stone jars to fruiting, to get prints & fruits to last a while of microdosing.  I buried most of my blue pearls, but did save some grain cased with grass for fruiting.  Will post a pic of that soon.

Folks, sorry for screwing up my blue pearls experiment.  I trust that it is understandable.  Still in the game with all of you, just a temporary change of plans.

Can you elaborate when you say cooked with coffee/water?

I cook the whole brown rice as directed on the package just with 50/50 water/coffee.

Interesting. I think I'm going to do this. I have BRF in half pints but unsure how well that'll work. Will try both methods I think. Approximately how much time did that jar take to colonize? And how much grain is in there exactly?

Received subbs print a month ago. Also found found a wild pan cinct here in Alabama, among a bushel of pan cyans!! Taking a print (bottom left of picture) Starting on the blue pearl project now!

Much thanks, subbs! I should have many pan cyan prints from now until February.

It is actually not fully colonized yet.  I inoculated 2 weeks ago I think.

I use 1 1/2 cups rice per 2 quart jars.

Still that much colonization after two weeks is somewhat impressive. You went from agar I assume? Ill be replicating this in 1qt jars

I use liquid inoculant.  It is basically a liquified agar/mycelium mix.  I take a clean syringe and squirt water onto an agar plate (in SAB) swish around a bit and suck up the slurry.

Since I use whole rice which doesn't shake well, I have found that the liquid helps spread the pieces of mycelium around better.

Thanks for dropping a golden nugget of wisdom, cast among pearls.

I keep hearing people talk about LI's but I'll admit I've been too lazy to look it up. Thanks macmerdin. I'm an lc guy myself and I can see that saving some time especially when I'm only doing a single run like I do with cubes.

Here's my other jar.

Obviously not fully colonized yet but has already started growing pearls.

I'm eager to see other's progress.  Keep in mind this is saralove's genetics...

It's funny how if I didn't know those were pearls I would think "eww nasty" but since I do know what they are it makes me think "ohhh pretty!"

Makes you wonder how many jars have been thrown away in error.

Maybe that's why not many people grow cincts?

Sorry for the crappy picture quality. Just wanted to share my current results.

The mycelium is very interesting looking, very contam-like. It just started leaping from the agar wedges onto the rice. Hope it starts to grow faster now that it's on grain.

Whew! What a journey this thread is! I still have a lot of auxiliary links to read for breadth and depth of knowledge...

I grew some Pan. cinc. spores out on agar last year sometime, and threw them away, written off as moldy.

I still have at least 3 prints somewhere... I'm a newbie though. So don't hold your breath for interesting results from me!

I've only grown cubes so far, and at the moment my first few trays of Pan cyan's are sitting their second day under casing. (spores -> agar -> oats -> coir/black kow/oat straw/gypsum -> case with peat/verm/calcuim carbonate [limestone]). Hopefully they fruit!

Very excited to see this and be a small part of a historical moment.

Damnit I want a sterile spore syringe of this stuff.

no vedor has it

if anyone has a sterile spore syringe of this stuff I could trade them a rust spore syringe, or some Mexicans spore syringe.

shortly I will add alt 7 & tamp my arsenal of potential trade items for these spores.
