Hi All:
I decided to give Captain Max's Blue's Poo a try and ordered 20 pounds of the shit.
It arrived today (2 weeks after ordering) in 2 large plastic bags inside a box that looks like it had been in someone's basement for 30 years or so.
Anyway, I tore one of the bags open to break the crap up into a tray and WHEW!!! MAN!! Does this shit STINKl!! It smells like our dear Captain Max had a big barbequed rib & chicken dinner and crapped in the bag himself!! Either that or he just strained some of the septic tank in his back yard and sent it to me.
Well, I went ahead and spawned 4 lbs of the stinky stuff with a 12oz jar of B+ colonized rye berries, covered the tray with foil and put it in my incubator. I'll update this post in 5-7 days. PEEEEEUUUUWWWWW!!! I have to go wash my hands a third time now!

Consistancy is like my shit after eating 10 pounds of cheese. But with big rocks and pieces of wood and unidentifyable chunks of hard burnt looking stuff.
Couldn't tell how much straw, not much though, I was gagging so bad from the smell I just waqnted to get the spawn in and be done.

Aw cmon, it doesn't smell that bad! You city guys just don't appreciate it! 
And No, it isn't my own shit, that will cost you more than the $2 a pound I charge for Blue's Poo!
If you found a couple rocks or larger chunks of wood, just toss them. Prolly got mixed in with the stable shavings.
Also, if it appears to wet in areas, like if some moisture kind of settled at the bottom, let it dry a bit. That is where most of the odour is coming from I think.
I have some of Mr. G's B+ fruiting on Blue's Poo right now. The mycellium loved the stuff and I got huge shrooms everywhere's! This stuff works great!
I was short on boxes that day and sent you an old one but I'm glad to hear it made it after 2 weeks of surface delivery. Airmail is so expensive!
Straw ratio was about 4 bales to several hundred pounds of manure.

Max, honestly, if this shit works as you say it does, I'll rave about how awesome it is and I'll grow to love the stink. But if it just kills my mycelium, I'm gonna be quite pissed.
Moisture content is perfect and the smell comes from ALL of it.
I will update this thread with the verdict Sunday night. I won't take the foil off the tray 'til then,.don't wanna smell this stuff any more than I have to. By then it should be nice and white and smell like yeast. If not, well, let's not go there yet.

How well? Or how poorly?
I?m sending it back and getting a refund. It doesn?t colonize. The mycelium grows out nicely on its rye berries being cased by the blue?s poo, but the poo doesn?t colonize. In 5 days, I should be looking at nice ryzzy mycelium, but I?m seeing fluffy white mycelium growing off the rye berries only.

What is all that white stuff in the pic of your tray of compost? Are you saying those are the rye and you didn't cover them with the compost? Thats your first mistake but if you be patient, it should still spread into the compost. Next time, follow the instructions and cover the grain with a layer of compost. Don't jsut sprinkle a bit here and there, cover it an inch deep all over.
boxtop, take your immature little pictures and fuck off. You've already proven what an idiot you are with your theory that sporulating caps start and stop sporulating whenever you change the print paper. What an idiot! And as usual, no advice for the guy, just immature remarks.

I was going to get a bag of Blue's Poo, but I think I will reconsider. I'll save some money and throw some colonized berries in the trash.
Reminds me of this compost garbage I bought from a vendor before, it came pre sterlized, and when I added the quart of colonized millet it killed it all within 2 days.

As for max, he is at least as childish and unable to control himself as you, sthis is very true.

He runs www.sporelab.com . He has an arangement with the Shroomery for advertizing without a banner, as long he behaves himself in a propper manner(which he lacks to do in the last weeks....)

All I am doing is responding to a customer complaint. It is hard to talk some sense to somebody when you have all these other idiots interrupting with thier bullshit.
I have sent some compost to a very repected member of the shroomery, one whoknows how to grows mushrooms. You naysayers will eat your words.

you tell us of a kit you bought that fruited in 5 days with nothing done but watering. Obviously the kit was already colonized and just needed to prompted to fruit. I willmention that that is an illegal product, it is against the law to send live mycellium throught the mail.
With my compost, you gave it a few days and there were no mushrooms yet so you immediately you cut it down.
My compost does not contain live mycellium so why do youthink it should be as fast as a kit which is nothing BUT live mycellium? Don't you think it would be a little more fair to let the compost colonize to some degree, then give it 5 days like you did to the other kit?
You have been very unreasonable trip, you've done nothing but bitch and complain scince day 1. I think maybe the onlyreason you ordered from the SporeLab was so you could post a bunch of phoney complaints and opoerate your own little pathetioc smear campaign.
If you don't have the patience to wait for the shrooms to grow then send the stuff back. I'll be glad to refund your money just to get rid of you.
Also, I told you not to put grain on top, it creates an overlay.
I started trays of Tapalpa and Lipa the same day you did, mine are looking fine.
I will not respond to any more of the lies and crap in this thread. If you have a problem trip, pm.

nothing you have posted is about cultivation only retaliatory remarks at anno.
Your a good guy and don't need to stup to this level it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
