I have a few T1 plates growing out, but one of my initial streak plates started
getting stones all over it. I think I am going to start some new transfers from this
plate. Pic doesn't really do it justice.

They never do it justice with these little stones. I see maybe half my stones in pics. So far I've transferred 2 stones. One got terrible bacteria the other I think either got a little bacteria (it tried jumping off the plate and hit the lid) but after it outran it it took off. Fastest growing transfer so far.
Asura that's a interesting way of streaking plates. Gonna have to try that. Looks like it gives you plenty of room to get the best leading edge.

I basically use this method to streak plates:
https://microbeonline.com/streak-plate-method-principle-purpose-procedure-results/

It's a great to get isolated colonies for the first transfer. Obviously, I fucked it
up here (too many spores). This was my first plate. I used the same swab for
the second and had nice discreet colonies that I did my T1's with.

Just wait...I am going to upload a pic of the pile of wild blue pearls I found!

Never found so many as I did this time under one large fruiting body. Really neat shit!! As soon as the photos are working properly I'll get it on here.

Found them the day after the site went down, been waiting not-so-patiently to share them on here!

Oh wow! Seems this site is back online.

Ok, I will admit to giving in to paranoia a bit.  As this site was down for a couple of weeks, thinking big brotha might have scooped it, I trimmed down my experiments, including my jar of pearls got planted (hope for some fruits to appear for prints).  Considering my recent posts & involvements I  wanted to minimize risks. Effectively lost a couple months of progress.  Will get back in the game soon.  Hope others hung in there and are close to reaching a conclusion to this project.

FWIW, the jar had a bunch of small blue pearls.  I didn't take a pic, as, well, I didn't want to accumulate "evidence".  Now I wish I did.

Can't wait to see your pics Subfinder!

Oh this is beyond cool.
This thread will captivate me for the next day or 2 im sure. Blue Pearls look very nice and the fact that they grow prevalent is definitely a plus. Hopefully I can find some out there and join the fun in here.

I just discovered this thread and didn't even know about this species.. So glad to have this forum back online.

Also this is a late reply but did you mix the coir block and hpoo and verm together then hydrate it? Or just hydratr coir than mix. Because I'll bet if you put the hpoo in with the coir then add boiling water itll pasteurize everything enough.

how long has that been fully colonized? My oat jars have been fully colonized about 2 weeks and it only has the thick spots of white growth, but nothing i can spot as a stone. I feel like my plates showed stones faster than these jars. Starting to think i might have a problem.

My pearls started growing before full colonization.  Maybe like 4 days after it colonized a space it would start growing the white thicker mycelium and then it would turn blue in a day or two.
