Sorry I didn't mean all that. I think it came off the wrong way. There is no tone of voice on the internet.

Well perhaps I am not the "common human," but I have more affirmations here than detractors. I am not writing down to people, I intend to bring the level of Shroomery discourse UP! It is true that less than 2% of Americans have a PhD degree, but this is not something I am going to be made ashamed of by some newbie who simply has no experience interacting with university professors.  I was your age (what-ever it is, I'm way older), but unlike yourself who reacts with criticism, my reaction to university professors who were more knowledgeable than me was awe, humility, and the aspiration to learn from them. Never did I listen to a lecture in any of the 3 degree programs I was in and thought that the professor was a "know it all!" I was paying a lot of money to be there. Here, you have the benefit of interacting with a professional educator and clinician for free, but your uncomprehending reaction is to lash out at someone because he is older and more knowledgeable than you are. Do you wear a MAGA hat too? :lmao:

My words are clear, "psychobabble" is a modern pejorative term, similar to the term gibberish. Gibberish is a word that people like yourself use who are not knowledgeable about complex or esoteric subjects. It comes from the the Arabic alchemist, philosopher, and mystic Jābir ibn Hayyān whose name was Latinized as Geber. Anything esoteric or abstract that was not understood by literal, concrete-minded people was dismissed as Geber-ish, which morphed into gibberish.

You have fewer than 100 posts, and I've been on these forums since 1999. What were YOU doing in 1999? You are gonna presume to school me on how I appear to you and how I should "reach people?" You can only speak for yourself, you do not speak for others, they speak for themselves. I have read sad criticisms like your's before. It is an ad hominem not a positive suggestion. My posts CAN often appear like a graduate school seminar because I've taught at that level. If you do not have the 'prerequisites' for reading my posts then move on or ask questions to explain, because clearly you do not understand them. Others may disagree with my position which is perfectly fine. I welcome dissenting positions because I, unlike yourself, are open to correction and further learning. Meanwhile, it would behoove you to know something about the individual you are 'advising' before you write publicly because it just makes you look foolish, it does not correct me. BTW, here is nothing "self-righteous" about being 'right' (i.e., correct) about a subject, and there is a HUGE difference between being righteous and being self-righteous. You may think I am being the latter, but I endeavor to be the former. Regardless, you are certainly not the arbiter, you just have an opinion such as it is. :bye:

Why wouldn't you just ask him to clarify what you did not understand in his posts? Instead you put forth your admitted ignorance with pride.

I think you just have limited vocabulary and a lazy brain. I do not understand fully what is all being said but I gots me google and I looks ups the stuff I'z don't understandz...you could do the same. Or again just ask for some clarification.

Have you came yet? You've had your cock in your mouth for some time now. You know, I have practiced Halasan, The Plough asana, for 46 years, and my cock just doesn't reach my mouth. But unlike yourself, I have a wife, and before her girlfriends, and before them another wife and before her more girlfriends. So I don't have to think about pleasuring myself, which after all came out of your still adolescent imagination.  :eatadick:

You really need to meet some people besides your homies, but thanks for the appreciation of my "caliber."  You really should learn to respect your elders regardless of their "caliber." Even your own peers deserve respect. The most puerile type of insults in the USA have to do with the two lowest bodily orifices. Calling someone a dog is not insulting here as it is in the Middle East, for example. In Nigeria they say "Wocca," and hold up a hand with fingers spread meaning 'you are the son of 5 fathers,' i.e., your mother is a whore. Now that's novel, but it's still just the same old universal practice of insulting someone's mother. It is kinder and healthier to go through life without being intentionally obnoxious. :yesnod:

BTW, I do not feel insulted at all. Nothing. Nada. Not a thing. I have to give you an 'F' for Failure at the written insult, but I'll also advise you not to continue trying. Firstly, it is not normal or healthy to go through life trying to insult complete strangers. Secondly, you're a newbie at The Shroomery, so I'll caution you that your ill-manners can and will (should they continue), probably be awarded a ban for name-calling and ad hominems by one of our capable moderators or administrators. It would be better if you learned how to communicate, to ask for clarification, and to express your objections on the basis of subject matter, not emotional reactions. :bye:

Re: A respectful question for our Christians. [Re: Duncan Rowhl] * 1

I do not think in terms of a guilt culture much any more, i.e., sin. I lean more towards the East in terms of a shame culture. So, it is not a matter of offending an anthropomorphic deity with mere biological processes that are not sanctioned by a set of tribal laws, it is a matter of knowing better and failing to live up to much higher standards of thought, word, and deed. Speaking (or writing) in such a manner that is petty, stupid, and intended to be demeaning to another (but which is actually demeaning to the author), is just something to be ashamed of. Of course 'I' am not interested in shaming others (that just creates a 'shamed child,' even in an ostensibly young adult). I spend too much time repairing shamed children in the therapy chair.

But individuals DO have a moral obligation to themselves and every other being (not to mention the biosphere) which needs to be by choice. What we see is failure to take responsibility to practice kindness (compassion) which is synonymous with wisdom. Instead, people choose to be foolish, which is the opposite of wise. There are those who for a time may be called sophomoric (wise-fool), but not as they leave their 20s. Then they are choosing foolhardiness over wisdom.

Lol sir if I may. Wisdom no longer comes with age in our society. An elder to me must earn my respect as I earn theirs. No one is entitled to respect. But you clearly think we owe you something.

Also, I can suck my own dick. You assume I'm single, sure. I know how comfortable delusions are to you.

As far as name calling, I called you no names. Try again there dude.

Any way  we are indeed blessed to read your writing because of the grand authority you are.

Respect is due everyone, "dude, and since I belong to the class of everyone, it is due to me. Respect should be your baseline in life, not obnoxiousness, or aggressiveness. I do not owe you anything but respect and vice verse, it is not something that needs to be earned. But this is tedious. I find you to be rude and with nothing to contribute. I do not want to read about your "cock," or your "dick." Maybe that is your sense of identity, if being a "dick" in the colloquial is 'the way to be' in your opinion. Whatever. I'm not interested in analyzing you by your choice of vocabulary and tone. It is completely adolescent. Adults do not speak that way to other adults in my world. I'm not some potty-mouth street punk with a limited vocabulary but even when I talk to people of limited words I am not reduced to the use of common obscenities.

Why are you even on this forum? You are like a potential school drop-out just cutting-up in class to annoy and distract the teacher. In fact, you seem to have a real problem with authority since you end with a sarcastic remark regarding mine. The "authority" regarding subjects I post on is actual and documentable if you had the incentive to follow up. I usually document references. But, you seem like a recalcitrant Trumpster to me, uninterested in facts and documentation, so I'll take leave of further communication with you at this time. I suggest that you ignore my posts, add me to your ignore list or I'll be happy to add you to mine with the few others whom I do not want to see addressing me by name. Third time: :bye:

Re: A respectful question for our Christians. [Re: MarkostheGnostic]
    #25881688 -

When the disciples asked Jesus why he ate with he publicans He said something like it wasn't his nature to 'divide' from them.

Given the argument that The True Dhamma will not last, and that the testimony of Paul may be Untrustworthy, we might forego the 'Division' encouraged by Paul in 1 Cor 5: 9-13

This could be about "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump,". It's easier being the 'new lump', but in the act of dividing perhaps we provide a reference point in treating others in the way we want to be treated?

It's a weird place. One person spends a majority amount of his time explaining his superiority to others; and a great deal of the crowd around seems to encourage him or condone it.

Pretty much does the opposite of creating an environment where friendly exchanges of information and insight can occur in a non-threatening atmposhere.

In any case, spirituality is not complicated.

Love and be kind, forgive. It's the opposite of schadenfreude.

(A German word which means to take pleasure in the pain of others.)

I.e., what goes on here a lot.

In Christ's view, it's very simple, love God, love others -- Give your coat if someone asks its; etc......

How much that is followed is another question -- but I do my best...

To the O.P.-- "Three in one."

The fact that you re-rwote your post in such a way confirms that you have - in relation - infinite class.

And, as you say (paraphrasing), 'Okay, have a good day, see you later'

For you it's a one-off, strange encounter.

But around here it's an Eternally Recurring Drama.

I'm not sure why you've addressed this to me B_B, or why you are speaking about writings attributed to Paul and also the Dhamma except perhaps in reference to the dead discourse above?  (I  mean, Paul, being ensconced in 1st century Judea, occupied by Romans probably had no knowledge of Buddhism).

As to treating others, I begin with positive regard, even after 36 years of living in Miami where one can predict how one will be regarded owing to the cultural pluralism and extreme ethocentrism here. I initially approach people with openness and a friendly demeanor for the most part. But Miami is no 'melting-pot,' it is a 'salad-bowl.'
