from my point of view ( as an austrian ) i hope trump will be elected.

I agree Hilary is scary but I don't know which is worse. I would never vote for Trump the lunatic and I would never vote for Clinton the mercenary.

Did you vote for the neo nazis in Austria?

Do you really think Trump will do good things for Europe??? :crazy2:

no i didn't. my candidate left allready "the race" for president.

we have the final election on sunday. but right now we have juast a candidate for far-left and far-right. two really "extremes"...

it's like "to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea"...

one of them want to strenghten the national sovereignty and "destroy" (or at least get some distance to) the european union in it's current form... but they also a foe of pluralism... the don't like cannabis, the dont like homosexuals, they dont like [insert here what you want]...

for my "livestyle" it would be a disaster...

the other wants to weaken the national sovereignty and give more power to brussel/eu. he's not a friend of direct democracy... their "partner-party" in germand (die grünen) event wanted to forbid "national referendum" for special topics..

it's hard. especialy because VdB is not really a "left socialist more-or-less-communist". he is a hardcore liberal capitalist - but he's good at hiding these things...

but i have to admit, right now i would vote the "neo-nazi" over the "pseudo-communist"... it's because iam not a friend of the european union in it's current form(!) as well...

... in the end i will vote "white"... means i will vote none of them...

as allways: please excuse my bad english...

no youre english is good, don't worry, only a few minor mistakes

hmm i see your position and it does seem difficult that there isn't really much choice available.

I'm no friend of the EU machine as it is currently either but it is the far right that will benefit from leaving the EU. States will go back to nationalism and these parties are in the best position for that. I think that would be very destructive for Europe as a whole.
Even though I don't like the EU as it is, I am voting in the UK referendum to stay in because when looking at the bigger picture, if we can reform the EU from the inside it could be much better than what it is today. I've been thinking a while on this and my first impression was that the UK should leave but I've come to realise that is unwise.

This made a good point...whether you like Varoufakis or not. (2m 10 onwards)

We are at a time where a divided, crumbling EU is not helpful to any of our countries. Even in relation to the refugee crisis.. we need to work out a plan coordinated across the entire EU for it to be effective.

So youre saying the far-left candidate is actually just more like a liberal capitalist? so they aren't as far-left as they claim?
and the far-right hate cannabis, gays, foreigners etc etc? What do you mean you will vote "white"?
my perspective is there is never a good reason to vote neo-nazi. One day of voting leads to an entire political term of 4/5 years in power.

PS: mass immigration into the US from Mexico is contrived by the war on drugs.

the drugs, BTW, will still need to be sold, by cartels. they will tunnel or go around the supposed 'wall-to-be'. the wall addresses a symptom, not the problem.

legalizing weed, would already be a massive positive impact on the US economy, too, by the by.

excellent point.

Zappa just characterises things as a bunch of stoners who just want weed legal

-not only is the black market aspect significant..
-but the health element - if you had a health condition that made your life hard without medical cannabis (MS, Cancer etc), its understandable for that to be on your election priority list.. plus issues around mental health issues will have more discussion and funding.. it affects other attitudes towards other drugs and other treatments too. Portugal has had huge successes from it and its now defended by left and right. America certainly has a problem with other drugs besides cannabis...
-and the fiscal element - the tax revenue
-the civil rights aspect
etc

Zappas priority sounds a lot weaker than that. "minimising socialism" is a shit and irrelevant priority...but coming from someone that was probably brought up conditioned by the red scare, its somewhat understandable.

not ignore all other issues, but add the issue of the mass lie and, frankly, conspiracy, making pot illegal, for no reason other than disdain for the black man, back in the day (admitted by one of the original commissioners against marijuana, and in quote by whoever that asshole is, that famous dicksnot who suggested the idea).

in principal, this is a most important issue, because it's something that has effected the nation and the world negatively for decades upon decades, and A: it was always based on a lie and faulty information and B: it never worked to try and stop the use of MJ, and just caused death, destruction, and chaos.

this NEVER should have happened, and thus it should be corrected, because it effects everyone, constantly, on a consistent basis, ruining lives, and it was never a real thing that actually existed as a threat. it was all control of the masses, and propaganda, and government controls on your freedoms. you should care about that, in principal, just like any other wish to tax you for programs that DO NOT WORK.

crime goes down, violence decreases. legalize all drugs, too; and make it so that you need to either A: have a valid license or ID to purchase, or B: need to commit robbery, for those criminal out there who still want act like an idiot -- then all crime rates go down, further. the cartel struggles then to sell research chemicals, let alone anything else. libertarianism, in this case, for the win.

No.  In fact the drug trade is a net positive for the mexican economy.  It will get worse if we legalize drugs, not better.

It will increase tax revenue a little and diminish court costs a little.  In the grand scope of our budget it is a mite on a gnat's ass.  I also suggest you look up the meaning of the word economize.

if drugs are made legal, then Mexico will follow suit, unless they wish to get boned by the endeavor. soon their economy will get a boost because now they have $$$ from the sale and purchase of the legal substances and plants (a big market in Mexico); and the cartels will go apeshit, forcing the government to either get in line with them (again), or move operations to take them out, or reduce their numbers to a palatable degree.

Why do you think the US market will buy Mexican when we grow better right here?  The cartels will have to move to other drugs.

there. fixed. it'd be a massive positive impact [for the US], and on the US economy.

how massively it impacts the economy is up for debate, but the positive aspects of said impact are massive; strictly as a matter of decriminalizing weed, the net positives are massive.
