Marijuana legalization is a litmus test for honesty. If youre against it, youd better have a reason why. And if that reason is "gateway drugs blah blah blah" then its clear youre beholden to the aforementioned special interests.

Why? It might be the most significant thing they feel affects their life? I agree there are plenty of things that are more important generally speaking to the country but individuals say with cancer, MS, or in prison for cannabis etc are directly affected by its illegality in some very personally significant ways.

You can't decide on the validity of other's reasons for voting one way or another. People vote based on the issues that are important to them.

Do you have a number one issue? nuking muslims?

I do not have any one single issue except minimizing socialism as much as possible.  And I most certainly can decide the validity of somebody else's voting criteria.  If MJ is their litmus test they are fucking morons.

that isn't socialism. that's merely corruption. you can say that it's a natural consequence of socialism, because somehow these people are "allowed to do what they do" (even though that's not the case); well the same can be said for Capitalism, when the kleptocrat corporate cronies also get into positions of power...and they're already getting rich too! but they get more riches because they play politics, all the same, like these "socialist kleptocrats" do. same difference.

it's the principal. people want the evil scum fucks of the world to take back their lies in creating policy that is based on false premises of safety concern.

this happens all the time. people are sick of being lied to and being told that something will kill you so we have to go kill it first, even though "it" is just a snivelling puppy.

Yup. There is absolutely no reason simple possession of marijuana should be illegal.

Anyone who thinks that is justified is an idiot, and their opinion is worthless.

there is no such thing as capitalism once everything is owned; then it is, by definition, a controlled "economy". so let's not starting killing people because they are poor, K, guys?

it's funny that people say that really "people are the problem" when it comes to socialism or capitalism's faults in function -- people's laziness and corruption.

then why do we want to take the option that takes people out of the equation, if the scenario thus is true? if this is inescapable corruption and collapse due to human nature, then what are we opting for exactly?

Did you even read the link?  One way to raise money for Bernie's plan is with a 35% effective tax rate on the 95th to 99th percentile.  That's nowhere near oblivion.  :picard:

i have to say: i'm starting see that Donald Frump (i'm sorry i just like making fun of his name, you can only say Trump so many times without wanting to shoot yourself) is a bit of a game-player with the financial aspects of diplomacy. he seems to be able to play short-games pretty well to his advantage.

can he play the long-game though without posing a threat to political spectrum that he (and his constituents) would wish to play out? without turning it into a zero-sum game?

PS: mass immigration into the US from Mexico is contrived by the war on drugs.

the drugs, BTW, will still need to be sold, by cartels. they will tunnel or go around the supposed 'wall-to-be'. the wall addresses a symptom, not the problem.

legalizing weed, would already be a massive positive impact on the US economy, too, by the by.
