I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

I can definitely understand why some people don't like Bernie.

That being said, personally, if the election were tomorrow, I would probably vote for Bernie. Not because of promises about "free college, healthcare, etc." I know he wouldn't be able to get most that stuff done, which is why I'm not too worried about 18 trillion in debt that won't happen.

I would vote for him because our government needs some balance to function and I am afraid of all these batshit crazy right wingers in congress. These people are not making decisions that are based on reality or (IMO) even real conservative values.

And our country does desperately need conservative values to keep progressive spending like the kind that Bernie wants in check. But some of these GOP congressmen are fucking crazy, man. We can't let them have their way all the time, either.

They need a Bernie Sanders or we would probably have goddamn religious police in certain **cough**red**cough** states in no time. I think that is barely even an exaggeration.

Bernie's got some pretty crazy ideas, but at least he is trying to base them on the shared reality that we all live in, and not biblical fantasies.

And Donald Trump? C'mon people. I don't like Hillary. I don't want to vote for Hillary. But Donald Trump? WTF?

He is not a business genius. If you inherit at least $250 million dollars like he did, you don't have to be brilliant turn that into more money. And Trump definitely isn't, as some of his businesses have failed in the past.

It always makes me laugh when people say stuff along the lines of - "If people have a problem with marijuana laws where they live, they should just move to another country. If you get arrested it's your own fault."

I wonder if people who think that also believe it was the fault of the Jewish people for getting murdered in Germany.

Ya know, the more I think about it, the more I realize how similar being a pot smoker and being Jewish really are.

Having Jewish parents is not wrong. Neither is smoking marijuana in any public place that people are allowed to smoke tobacco.

Neither of these things in and of themselves is wrong, and neither of these things in and of themselves should lead to a person being locked in a cage or punished.

The idea that losing your freedom because you did either of those things is fucking stupid, and anybody who agrees with that a person should lose their freedom for either of those things is probably a shitty person or an idiot.

It really is as simple as that.



(And it should go without saying that situations like driving under the influence or endangering others while you are intoxicated on any drug, include marijuana, are totally, totally, different. I do agree people need to be regulated there.)

You should come hang out in the Rise of the Far right thread. This argument has been made from time to time about muslims and other immigrant populations and i'm sure i've heard it used somewhere about natives who are deemed "sympathisers". qman says quite frequently that basically muslims should self-deport before they are killed.
"if you don't like it, leave" is the weakest argument coming from people within "democracies"!!

Also I agree that any politican that doesn't support even medical cannabis is not fit for election in this day and age.

It is very disheartening to see so many people making their number issue a stupid wimpy ass drug.  I for one barely give a fuck what a candidate's stance on the issue is. To make prescription pot, which is still prohibition, a big deal is just fucking stupid.  I smoked all the pot I ever wanted to and never had a problem getting away with it.  It is a fucking non-issue unless you are a vapid stoner retard.  They are no better than any other single issue voter on either side.

its far from my number one issue but a serious issue for millions, including myself. The point is that the position to be against medical cannabis is retarded considering all the evidence in this day and age. Also its not just about cannabis, its about the policy towards all drugs. Its not just stoners that are affected.

I wonder if you would lose your shit running towards Bernie to make love to him if he wanted to decriminalise heroin.
