The Ivory Tower

We've all been up there at one point or another. This purity is a trap. It leads us to ignore that which falls beyond its grand doors. Though we seem to touch everything and our view of the world is greater than those stumbling through the swamps, we're useless until we come down from our posts and soil our silk slippers.

Yes, the muck is where it's at! You wouldn't think so - being so used to the clean truths of the tower, but it's all about the dirt. The dirt is ALIVE. Until you feel it under your fingernails, oozing through your toes, and mixing with your sweat to form a sticky layer that coats your body... yes, until you know all THAT, all your musings, thoughts, ideas, theories, and ponderings are useless.

Truth is a worn sole (pun intended). Fact is scar on your brain. Reality is a machine lubed with elbow grease.

This post reminds me of something... Are you a fan of female mud wrestling? Because, you can talk about it, watch films, read about it, etc., but until you get in the ring and take part in it, you haven't got a clue of what it's really like.

You know, there isn't any place around here that regularly hosts female mud wrestling. I think the strip clubs somehow trump the need for such things.

I'd probably watch female mud wrestling (I wouldn't seek it out though), but I don't think I'd get in the mud ring. My fight or flight mechanism has a hair trigger - a wild punch to the side of my head and I just might find that I've accidentally cracked some poor woman in face. I don't like to play fight with people I don't know well.
