every day carry knives * 3
    #21655621 -

So i always carry a knife on me. Its so useful, i cant imagine not carrying one. Makes me feel safe, comes in handy for a variety of reasons that cant even be predicted. Whether i need to cut some tape, open a box, cut a thread, my knife is always there.

Yesterday i lost the knife ive carried for 2 years. I loved that knife. It was a ken onion ripple

It had this awesome feature where you could flip it open using a small tab kn the back of the knife.

Such a pity to see it gone. What do you guys carry? Can you recommend and flipper knives or fixed blade knives?

i pulled the seats out of the truck trying to find it.

its 3 states away. in a church parking lot.

or someone found it and it made them happy or they threw that expensive ass blade away. it was military issue a friend gave it to me.

sadface.

i looked up the blade thinking about buying another and i think its about $500

Switchblades are definitely nice. The problem is that theyre more illegal than most other knives because of their spring function, which is why i tend to avoid them. Flipper knives are amazing because theyre more "legal" than assisted opening knives or gravity knives, yet still open just as fast or faster with proper skill.

Still, i live in chicago and the legal knife size is 2.5". My knives have always been atleast 3" so maybe legality doesnt matter. Awitchblades are pretty badass

that looks like a limited run, shame you lost it, they wont ever be making any more probably.

when i head out i just carry a simple friction folder now. its made and forged by Nagao Higonokami. so i find it pretty special. and it does everything i need. its the 120mm version, with #2 blue paper steel. this is a pic of it:

and this is a clearer stock photo:

when i was working i EDC'd a bunch of different ones. my favorite was my (knockoff)strider SMF. fucking loved that knife, ive held real ones which are about 500$, and mine was just as sturdy, and i paid 75 for it. sold it for dope though, like pretty much all my old knives

this is a stock photo of an SMF:

i also had a spyderco military that i had a desert tan powdercoat added to the blade and got custom matching scales (thanks to Tuffthumbz from youtube!) i didnt carry it around often cause of how big and threatening it is, but i loved that baby. ive also owned another military with a DLC coating.

this is a picture of the militarys i had. the custom one is on the bottom. colors look more grey than desert tan cause of the camera though

i also loved EDCing the Spyderco tenacious. its a cheapie but pretty durable. benchmade prisidio was also fun to carry, but it was only a temporary knife swap so i couldnt carry it long or overuse it.

ive owned and traded away alot of knives of the years. i love knife threads. i could go on all day.

it would be awesome if this thread turned into a regular thing like the "post your cat" thread and the likes.

i only see an EDC/knife enthusiast thread once every other month or so and it usually doesnt last long

this is a an old pic of my Tenacious. its got an amber laminate coating(not nearly as nice as the powdercoat, but not as expensive either)

this is the powdercoated military before i got custom scales

I definitelt dont mind this thread getting hijacked by people showing off their knives, everyone feel free to go for it.

Aince were on the subject, i just called 311 and spoke to an officer. Apparently the legal size is 4", i couldve sworn it was 2.5". That means my fixed blade is legal.

Picked this baby up in south dakota 2 years ago. Paid $50 for it. Its a vintage US made shrade uncle henry, circa 1970s(no serial, hard to determine exact age). Carbon steel.

damn, thats a sexy blade. looks like an awesome skinner. seems like you took pretty damn good care of it too, if its carbon steel from the 70s

It's funny how we get attached to things like this, I have lost many knifes over the years, and I still miss everyone of them!
