Hey guys, Figured I'd start a thread for all the pictures I have. Then I can have a place to dump all the incoming ones I'm not really looking for an ID per se', but feel free to shout out something if you want. I know most of the common ones. I just eat the easy ones and snap pictures at the odd/pretty ones! ANY excuse to hit the woods works for me.... Ok on to the sexy time:

Those Amanita are glorious!

It was treacherous, jungle-like conditions, out there today. The bug bites are beyond description. Still felt good! Not sure about the identity of the sexy candy apple red one:

Wooooooo! Take a ticket to fungal town:
A rascally rat skull, giant Amanitas, giant Boletes, A. caesarea (or close relative), chanterelle, & many unknown oddities... Always a blast!

Someday I will buy a book with tons of color just on the surrounding bolete families. Here's from the past week, mostly today. Got some Boletus bicolor for the take home box. Bitter Tylopus,Boletus ect, taste surprisingly similar to bug spray...

Hey thanks guys. Yeah its some kind of hygrocybe, definitely.. Took another ride to bolete city today. All the surrounding bolete families make my head spin....too...many...choices... "Rascally rat skull" just sounded right. No idea what animal it really is. Rodent-like, for sure. The red egg-like ball with the sack shroud is a young Amanita jacksonii apparently. Funny that its edible but shares that same volval cup as the destroying angel & others . Odd

Amazing! This thread is epic and it's only the first page! Stellar habitat shots. I can see the bolete gods have been kind to you.

Pure awesomeness
Any idea which species that weird orange pored bolete(?) is? (#4 and 5 in first post)
I found some of those too. The inner flesh is yellow when you rip it open, but almost immediately turns dark blue, thought that was cool.
