age old debate. I'm sure the cavemen ate shrooms, and debated weather it was appropriate to carry the spear in non-hunting situations.

The point is, you never know when shit will happen. Its best to be prepared for it. I like the idea of carrying a gun, because i don't want a situation to come about, where my life, or my family's lives are threatened, and i am left helpless to do anything about it.
Situations like this happen ALL the time. Maybe not to everybody, but to a lot of people. Random people. It doesn't matter if you live in a big city.
The day some asshole starts shooting. What will you say you did to help? Used your non-violent attitude to diffuse the confrontation?

Is that a trick question?
I'm not an N.R.A. member, but i assume the law states that you cannot carry the gun while intoxicated, not that you can't have a beer with dinner, and carry the gun.
Common sence would tell you that there is a differance between the two.

I doubt it, they were under constatn threat of attack by other tribes and sometimes animals. Did the cowboy wonder if he should carry his gun in the wild west, what about the miner in the clondike?

violent crimes involving firearms, the brady bill was lifted allowing military
style rifles to be sold with pistol grips and bayonett lugs, magazine capacities

the UK, for a place with no guns, there are far too many shootings. I mean look
at the figures, your country is in turmoil, sure there are fewer murder than in
the US but look at the population differences, look at the differences in
cultures, we are the hollywood action film of the world, we have all the guns
and less crime than previous years, you have no guns and more crime each year
more brutal murders involving gun than you legaly can own have in your country

I really dont understand how you guys arent terrified to leave your home for a
biscuit and tea, I mean now that they are stripping away your next line
of defense now that guns are only in the hands of criminals

the absolute basic is, you must have 100% certainty that you believe that your
life or the life of another is in jeopardy, if you have the fear that a life

I've been in the situation a couple times in my cab, I drew my pistol and used
it in defense of the life of another, a woman that came running from between
some trees and buildings, she was genuinely terrified, I stopped and she jumped

of my taxi, I hit him, stopped and jumped out, drew the pistol and went to check
on him, the woman in the back screaming to for me to drive away the whole time

I radioed to my dispatcher to send lots of cops that there was an armed man in
front of my cab and an armed civilian detaining him, a couple minutes later
there were a dozen cops screaming in, he was laying face down in my headlights,
I had my gun on him and the cops never even flinched about my pistol, didnt even
ask me to lay it down or point their guns at me

there is a reason that the crime rate in america is getting lower, people
are tired of being victims, cops understand that, as long as you're within
the law in the way you handle it, leave them an uninjured assailant to prosecute
they;ll tip their hat and wish you a nice day, shoot them and they gotta do
paperwork or their job or something, that fucks up their night and you'll be
stuck with some unpleasantries yourself

I shot a man in the arm when I was 19.Tried to rob me with a knife.Still have his knife.

My grandfather told  me " you will only need a gun for about 6 seconds in entire life for self defense. Be sure you can put your hand on it".
