It's a much slower round, and carries more mass. So it won't make a clean penetration, and the mass will deliver the force of the round through the whole body.

That's why with .45 it doesn't need to be accurate, just hit them in the torso. The force carried by that mass with the slower velocity will knock almost anyone off their feet.


As far as I know, no police officers use FMJ on duty. It would be a serious liability.

In regards to caliber discussion, it doesn't matter as much as you would think provided an effective ammunition is used.

You need to speak the fuck up. Those assholes carrying their semi automatic rifles into Denys are getting all the media attention. People who are sane and just want to hunt are being labelled moderates or "gun grabbers". Most of the rest of the world does not know those NRA nuts are only a tiny percent of American gun owners.

I can totally argue that weed should be legal for reasons of freedom and guns should be controlled. I don't think getting shot is a form of freedom. The freedom to get shot is not something I want. My smoking weed endangers no one. If you just had a hunting rifle you were using out in the bush, okay. But half you people have guns for self defense or protecting your castle, that endangers everyone who even lives near you. My weed stinks out my garage, hurting no one. The fact you think it's a good idea to have one for protection makes you delusional at best and possible mentally ill. If it isn't locked up when you aren't hunting I am opposed to it. I don't consider having a loaded weapon under your pillow to be safe storage. Firing a weapon in a populated area is dangerous even if you were shooting a criminal, which you won't be.
I don't believe in self defense with a weapon because as someone pointed out you just get ambushed then. Cops get shot that way all the time too, hell many with their own gun. You guys are not trained like police and not at all prepared. It's just delusional, you aren't going to be shooting any would be rapists or muggers, you might hurt a family member though.

i dont have any kids... i dont ever have kids in my home.. do guns still need to be locked up?

whats wrong with having one nearby for personal protection?

to me they are a hobby just like shooting pool or playing soccer.

Well it just doesn't jive well as a justification when in many instances having a gun around will make you and those close to you less safe.

no kids here either, ever.

my guns are not locked up, but they are put away. not far though, always one within a few strides and reaching distance.
