Not sure to what logic you are referring or where I mentioned a ban. Reading what was not written could be a sign of neurological issues.

A 2-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his mother after he reached into her purse at a northern Idaho Walmart and her concealed gun fired, authorities said Tuesday.

Veronica J. Rutledge, 29, was shopping with her son and three other children, Kootenai County sheriff's spokesman Stu Miller said. Rutledge was from Blackfoot in southeastern Idaho, and her family had come to the area to visit relatives.

She had a concealed weapons permit to protect herself from bad guys. Miller said the young boy was left in a shopping cart, reached into his mother's purse and grabbed a small-caliber handgun, which discharged one time.

Deputies who responded to the Walmart found Rutledge dead, the sheriff's office said.

Prosecutors are deciding whether or not to try the toddler as an adult.

*Irony Alert*

Rutledge was a member of the conservative women’s group the Independent Women’s Forum. They say that a ban on high-capacity magazines would hurt a woman’s ability to fight back against potential attackers.

In a statement, IWF senior fellow Anna Rittgers suggested that by banning high-capacity magazines and semiautomatic weapons, women will not be able to fight back. ”It often takes several shots to stop one attacker,” Rittgers writes. “If the maximum magazine capacity is 10 (or if all semiautomatic handguns are banned, but 6 shot revolvers remain), and a woman in danger has to stop and reload her weapon while trying to protect her children (who are likely hysterical at this point), it gives the bad guy an opportunity to react–potentially fatally.”

Problem was - she had a low capacity pistol.

You wanna see stupid, just look at the people they let drive automobiles.  And Gun Control is about controlling people, not guns.  People do stupid shit a lot and get killed or kill others.

So the government should tell us what to eat.  Maybe they can also tell us what kind of weather we are allowed to exercise in.  Wouldn't want people to over exert themselves.  I've got a better idea.  They can tell us the mandatory number of hours we have to sleep to be safe the next day.

No thank you.  Some people are stupid, and you can't fix stupid.  You definitely can't regulate stupid out of existence.

I definitely don't want some lying scumbag who sucks dicks for money in Washington DC to tell me what I can and can't do.  After all, what made the fucking politicians smarter than the rest of us?

Maybe you aren't smart enough to be able to live without Nanny telling you what to do but I, and certainly a lot of other people are.

One blast of gamma radiation does the trick.

Yeah a .45 would have been more appropriate for that situation.

40acp has a much higher velocity and so it penetrates the target with a clean wound; and leaves them standing upright.
Which is why with 40acp, a calm and accurate shot is all that is needed.
Clearly the officer was incapable of remaining calm; or else he probably would have resorted to non-fatal shots.

.45 will knock someone off their feet.
It's a much slower round, and carries more mass. So it won't make a clean penetration, and the mass will deliver the force of the round through the whole body.

That's why with .45 it doesn't need to be accurate, just hit them in the torso. The force carried by that mass with the slower velocity will knock almost anyone off their feet.

Not with some low velocity hollow points. Plus you can carry more rounds of .40 in a normal magazine

True.

I'd be curious to know what he had fired into him.
FMJ would have made a clean hole, leaving the man walking.

I was just stating generalities in that previous post though.

umm no

also most 40 S&W rounds have more energy than most 45 acp

aside from maybe some of the bigger magnums you need to hit a vital organ to drop someone with a pistol

I determined a long time ago that trying to explain to someone who favors gun control why gun control can't work in America is roughly equivalent to trying to explain to an Obama supporter that just because I don't like Obama doesn't mean it is because he is kind of black.

Anyone who said they'd like to ban guns, can never ever use the argument that weed should be legal for reasons that include freedom.

Plus, all the studies you put and shit, is the cause of someone mishandling a gun properly. Yes. Those people should be banned from them. But why shouldn't a law abiding citizen, who isn't a complete retard, be able to keep one safely put away?

Like a story of a kid shooting a kid? We seriously blaming guns for that? Not stupid human nature of the dad leaving it lying in the fucking open?!

Everybody's looking for a scapegoat to stupidity.

And on a side note, I don't own a gun and never will and think they're a little pointless (I don't see many expierences where I wish I had one.)

.40 cal rounds are ballistic masturbation, they are a 10mm(badass round) with half the powder capacity in the casing. perfect for home defense but the recoil is ridiculous for how much energy is actually transferred to the target. .45 acp is based of the .45 LC which is a time proven man killer, similar ballistics to a .357.
He shoulda had a Judge 410 revolver with 00Buck.
