These jars look pretty rigid so I reccon they would be OK.

They look to rigid. PP is not very rigid at all. That shit looks like it would melt terribly.

Someone may have already asked this but I don't feel like reading through 26 pages... What recipe do you use for your agar plates Muda? I looked at Pasty's easy agar tek and may try that but dig the light blue color in your video.

My standard recipe is pretty close to the one in Pasty's tek. 500ml water, 10g agar powder from a heath food store, 7g dextrose, 10g potato flake and a few drops of food colouring. I have replaced the dextrose with a couple drops of honey and that works too. I will adjust the amount of nutrition I add depending on weather I'm going for fast growth or long term storage. I have also used dog food agar but I cant remember how much dog food I used.

Hey MF I'm caving in and buying an oster blade to make some LI.  Do you always use a small jar to put the agar in or could I use a QT size regular mouth jar?  How much inoculant do you use per QT size jar?  Spawn bag?  Have you ever sucked up the 'noc with a syringe?

Sucking with 50cc syringe and not using the needle seems to be a plausible idea.

Tall 1/2 pints work best. Larger jars let the agar slip past the blades and it doesn't get blended enough. I have used anywhere from 10-30cc to inoculate. It's just a matter of speed of colonisation vs quantity of spawn.

I've used a quart jar and a pint jar to try and blend agar and they both absolutely suck. A regular mouth half-pint jar is the only thing I've found to blend it perfectly without messing around. I've also used the hand drill method and mine is a weaker B&D and it sucked. I found a perfect Oster at Target for like $15 and insta-bought it. You can also buy the spare Oster blades online for very cheap as well.
