Define God
    #20851870 -

I know everyone will have their own opinion of what God is.

Some say it's an unattainable role of a Nazi-like bearded Dude in the sky throwing lightning javelins.

But what is a practical interpretation for this term.

I think God is a position humans are intended to strive for.

If you were in a play or a movie, would you be bold enough to play the protagonist? The antagonist? or tree number 7#

I think the definition of God is the strive towards becoming a focal point in their story, or society, and or culture. Therefore the closest thing to God would be the protagonist.

So when you say you are God,
Are you just making at declaration of protagonism?

So people like Einstein,Tesla, Terrence Mckenna, JFK, John lennon, Jesus Christ, Buddha, Gandhi, Dali llama, etc. Would that be the real definition of God?

Just making conversation here

God is indefinable to me as stale as that sounds.  Though, I do believe a person can master themselves at which point they are an individual identity of that aforementioned opaque of a concept.

This is why I personally enjoy the Father/Son/Holy Spirit ideology (These Western labels are only for convenience purposes)... The Father is forever and created his Son in his likeness and the Son got bored of his father's awesomeness (who too musta got bored with his awesomeness, for what other point would he make a son?) and made another Son which purposely was created to create the opposite of their Father to spice things up, and then the world was born.  Good vs evil.  From there it's all mechanical.

The Holy Spirit is the intermediary thing between the Father and his Son who is currently in the world.  For the Father of course would prefer to find his Son, knowing his Son is out here..  But his Son is lost, for the Father did not create the world.  As a link between the infinite and finite, this spirit seeks to wake up the Son in each of us, for we all "lost ourselves" and became products of our environment due to mechanization.

We all get found sooner or later and live or die or something happily ever after.....But I suspect this is not accurate, simply the best picture I can paint atm. :smirk:

Interesting, are you implying the goal of Christianity is ultimately abandon obedience to their tyrant oppressor?

I guess they are taking things in the wrong direction.

I had a christian extremist tell me satanist follow their heart, and intuition and think for themselves.
and that anyone who will get into heaven has to be obedient to all of these rules of enslavement and oppression.

If Jesus Christ came back and saw what horror show was created in his influence i'd think head string himself back up on the cross :jesus:

I bet the Jesus Christ that actually existed was more alike to the lucifer they described. :strokebeard: with their wack logic.

I think there's a lot of truth in Christian doctrine but I think it's twisted to shit when pastors/parents/peers tell one what it means instead of one deciphering it and applying it to oneself.

All other philosophies say the same thing, just with a different tongue, imo.

In the neoplatonic idea of God... God does not exist. This is because God is beyond existance. The diety can not be confined to a portion of what it has created. The human mind is not capable of fathoming the limitlessness of God and so, the diety is beyond definitions as well.

God is the Creator of the Avatars: Vishnu, Christ, Buddha, Zarathustra, Moses, Mohammed, etc., and all their followers.

Entheogens are the true Creator.

Rg Veda, Book 9, HYMN 42. Soma Pavamana
1. ENGENDERING the Sun in floods, engendering heaven's lights, green-hued,
Robed in the waters and the milk,
2 According to primeval plan this Soma, with his stream, effused
Flows purely on, a God for Gods.
3 For him victorious, waxen great, the juices with a thousand powers
Are purified for winning spoil.
4 Shedding the ancient fluid he is poured into the cleansing sieve:
He, thundering, hath produced the Gods.
5 Soma, while purifying, sends hither all things to be desired,
He sends the Gods who strengthen Law.
6 Soma, effused, pour on us wealth in kine, in heroes, steeds, and spoil,
Send us abundant store of food.

Who else could be God? Walt Disney saying "abracadabra" over a wheat wafer to make it turn into the Flesh of Christ?

Quote:
I know everyone will have their own opinion of what God is.

Why would everyone have it? For some people (like me for instance) it's pretty much irrelevant.

At best God is a mouth noise that primates make to link to some really vague guilt-ridden idea, about how they themselves SHOULD allegedly be different than how they already are, or how the universe they perceive outside, should allegedly be different (or they hope it WILL be different, in the future) than it currently is.

I call epic bullshit on these vain hopes, some primate head believing it knows better about how the planet and universe should be, than the actual processes that are taking care of business. Trying to make the Tao fit into small boxes devised by rudimentary monkey logic and expectations.

I mean yeah sure we live in a great living fractalic universe, and one could say that we're cells in an organism and then call that organism "God", but quickly you see that there's nothing that your cells in your body can do, to make the body run better, or to please you in some way, other than be themselves. Blood cells carry oxygen, white cells kill of anything that seems tasty to them, everybody follows their own obtuse interests, oblivious to the larger design, and yet the design works beautifully as long as everything acts according to its nature.

Now if someone can explain to me in this context, the praying and mumbling and groveling, the making of hand signs in the air, crossing the hands before one's cock and looking down in submission in church, I'm all ears

Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it,
and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

Re: Define God [Re: Spacerific]
    #20854846 -

It's a bit long but here is my definition.

God: Some Supernatural Non-testable Non-Experiencable Non-Provable Being that supposedly lives in outerspace but is completely invisible (nowhere to be seen) and shows absolutely zero signs of Its Existence (as the saying goes: the invisible and the non-existent look very much alike!).

Invented by primitive humans that lacked scientific insights and lived in 3rd world conditions. These primitives had no idea why it rained and stormed and thought that droughts/famines/diseases were because an Invisible Creature living in outerspace was mad at them.

These primitive morons  lived without running water, without toilets (they shit/pissed in the floor), without a fair and just rule of law, without electricity, and without means to properly refrigerate food.

Tooth paste was completely unknown to these apes. Same with washing your hands to prevent the spread of germs as they had no clue what germs were (again - they thought SkyDaddy was mad at them if they got sick).

Life expectancy was very low. In fact, you were lucky to be born at all. Infant mortality was through the roof. As an example, note that the late 1600s was considered the beginning of the Enlightenment Era and was light years ahead of the apes who founded the Abrahamic Religions.

Well, Queen Anne of England, who had the best health care in the world in the late 1600s, was pregnant 17 times. ALL SEVENTEEN TIMES HER CHILDREN either died in miscarriage, died as a stillborn, or died as a child due to their primitive medical practices and pure medicinal ignorance.

The apes were so ignorant about reality that they thought the earth was flat, they thought the earth was less than 10,000 years old and was poofed into existence just a short time ago, they didn't understand what those shiny sparkly things in the sky were, they didn't have a clue what an element was (say Hydrogen or Oxygen even), they were basically retards.

They acted like retards and would kill you for a petty reason, and start wars over something really childish, or would throw you in a debtors prison if you owed someone money, or torture someone for something very minor because the apes were out of control ignorant ruthless animals with very low IQs.

In conclusion, anyone who believes in God is a fool.

God is the good incentive to keep the people good and respectable. Of at least it was in theory. It does the opposite.

Confucian said:

Then call me a darn silly billy..:god2:

come at me brah

So if you don't believe in God does that mean you are saying you don't believe in thermodynamics??
:awkwardconfusion:

I don't believe in the bible sense of God but to me its not impossible that in a distant future we as a society live in a different state where we have evolved to a singular entity or consciousness that has become timeless and can see all of the unfolding.

And how do we know the universe unravels linearly, that's probably just our experience of it.

there are endless possibilities left to explore and i think its possible ideas can manifest themselves into existence including God, we just have to agree on a "moral imperative"
Even inventions start of as just idea before they become inventions.
And perhaps things like vampires don't manifest because objectively we as a society think that's a stupid idea.
Perhaps God is a real invention of our consciousness to serve a vital purpose in our universe.
But then again im just spit ball'n here

Many things shift from being in a state of separation and a state of unity i.e. mycelium and even computer programs because it loops instructions until its told to jump to a next instruction.
Even the concept of the big bang
:ancientaliens:

Do you even know if your universe is analog or digital??
you probably better find that out first

We might just be some infinite sampling rate. Is analog an illusion?
