try be a little more specific, are you talking colonizing jars or subs? bottom line too cold means no fruits non subs no growth on jars and too hot will kill jars and cube subs will spue metabs out and may kick the bucket but q's like that are also dependent on what species/genus of mushrooms your growing

This likely won't be possible, the best and only practical way to tell your temps are off is by speed of growth. Especially with P.cubensis.
Low temps make colonization and fruiting dramatically slower(60F and below) while higher temps will make your grows fruit and colonize quickly.
Temps too high will cause your sub to dry out very quickly and could invite certain bacteria.

Cool, thanks guys. Well theres no pics of myc piss/metabolites so thats your too hot. I was really confused when I first saw it and no one knew what I meant when I described yellow/amber 'honey' dew drops forming on myc.

Metabolites do not always mean it's too hot.

It's usually a sign of contamination.

It can be a reaction to contamination.  If you let a culture go way long it'll often do that as well.

Yeah, the only time I've noticed P.cubensis will exude metabolites

Yes, after a culture consolidates and have a lot of time to sit around, it starts producing metabolites.. out of boredom I guess. :lol:

they also may secrete them on subs like coir for no real reason other then to help break it down, it also shows up alot for no real reason on cow manure from what i've seen this year, there was no contams, not heat no stress just a few metabolites on the cow manure but not on the straw, i had asked workman and he said it is perfectly normal and went into to a typical workman explanation that i can't remember due to stonerness

I haven't forgotten about this thread, actually I've been taking some pretty good macro shots of Psilocybe cubensis in the wild lately, which I think should go here.

My other project has been consuming my time a bit, have a look, it's a thread similar to this one, involving the entire community.
