Nice, I love the blobs.  So dense, and I grind em up for chocolates.

My girlfriend likes em too cause they are funny looking.  Shes always putting her grubby hands in the FC and poking em.

They will stop growing and start turning a light shade of blue.

But you can pick them at any time.

No need to pic the super tiny ones if there are a million of them, this will only tear up the substrate.

all i can say about the few minutes i just spent looking at this is..... AWESOME!..... I have searched for photos w./ descripts like this for days now..... this is excellent, it shows a number of conditions w/ symptoms and causes clearly described...... this reminds me of the kick ass photo pages in the middle of the mel frank books i so cherish :smile:

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to cultivate oyster mushrooms on spent coffee ground bags with calcium carbonate. It was a great success until now.
Indeed, my mycelium is not growing through the all bag.
I have something like 5 to 8 cm with just coffee ground and no mycelia at the bottom of the bag.

Do you now what can cause that ?

Celia, if moisture settled at the bottom it won't colonize it.(that annoying thing called gravity causes this)
Or if bacteria developed it won't colonize the infected regions.


I took some really cool shots of a yellow pin mold on grains last night, I'll add then tonight.

Almost time to update, think we're going to add a timelapse section on here too.
Maybe some good mycelium growth and fruiting lapses. Mainly because I just spent $1700 on camera equipment and want to try some lapses.
But they're educational as bonus.

Thats on the Medium sized picture setting.

I just decreased it because the pics were billboard sized.

I'm satisfied with this set up. Good things to come, it even does amazing timelapses.
